Don't suck, clearly not as strong as the Big-12 though. QB play is well below par conference wide.

ESPN is about to cum over the Big 12. I'll take the SEC champ vs anybody for the NC

No. I think the SEC's problem is and always has been consistency.

Alabama STOMPS UGA, then struggles with Kentucky

UF loses to Ole Miss, and then STOMPS LSU

This shite happens every year.

The SEC is clearly down this year. Big 12 is the best conference by a wide margin in 2008 so far.

go program by program and see:

WEST-
LSU- down from last yr
Gumps- Up from last yr
MSU- down
Aubie- down
OM- up
Arky- down

EAST-
UT- down
UF- lil up
UGA- lil up
Vandy- Up
UK- down
Usc- even?

I would say the conference as a whole is a little down and I thought that at the start of the season.

I think college football one through 119 is closer in talent than ever before, which translates to the conferences. The SEC is down on offense this year, imo, but the defense is stellar. The Big12 will beat each other up this year as the SEC does.

remember 3 weeks ago 5 SEC teams were in the top ten.

it's Big12 turn now.

by years end who knows. (but- SEc will have 8 bowling teams)

Offense fills stadiums, defense wins championships.

People love offense, and the Big 12 is putting a great offensive show. 8 of the Big 12 teams are in the top 36 in the nation by offensive ypg (K State, Nebraska, Okie State, Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Texas Tech)

The SEC only has three teams in the top 36 in the nation by offensive ypg (Georgia, LSU, Florida).

On the flip side, the SEC is putting a great defensive show. The SEC has 8 teams in the top 36 in the nation by defensive ypg (South Carolina, Bama, Georgia, Kentucky, Florida, Tenn, Miss St, LSU).

The Big 12 only has two teams in the Top 36 when it comes to defensive ypg (Oklahoma and Kansas).

For the SEC, compared to previous years, yes, it sucks this year. It's still one of the top two conferences in the country, though.

espn is begging for anyone to be stronger than the SEC. If the Sec champ gets into the NC game, we'll make it three in a row!

agree on the QB play. With two returning QB's actually starting now. Defensively it's no contest. They clearly have no clue what defense is.

well 11 of the 12 SEC teams. If a certain team was there they would be just as estatic....think a USC/Gump matchup

Scoop there is no doubt the SEC is down this year and yes the B-12 is definitely the big dog this year...they were very close last year so this makes since.

I will always be a SEC child but the B-12 has always been a close second for me.

Yeah, it's no doubt down, but it's not a weak conference.

you guys are funny, claiming some kind of anti-sec bias from espin. That is laughable.
