If we don’t win after that, then we really do have a curse over us. That’s what I’m talking about with fire, passion, love of the game and team! WPS and f-texas!!!

Did she whine about fans on social media and how difficult it is to play here?

She and her team are exponentially tougher than anyone associated with our baseball program right now.

Hell no. She reminded them what they’ve done and how good they are, but also how they’ve always responded to adversity with results doing the talking, and that they had to respond right now and take it or leave it and have fun doing it. It made me fist pump - that’s the message the team should hear loud and clear.

Thank God for that speech. If she'd had an epic backing track and cinematic lighting when she said it they'd have won for sure.

DVH take notes.

We can appreciate Coach Deifel without turning it into a pissing match over DVH.

Your sarcasm isn’t appreciated.

I just don’t get why people get so hung up on these motivational things or players talking about social media and act like it has any correlation on their ability to hit a ball, good or bad. It’s fun to watch but acting like it affects performance on the field is grasping at straws. Chad not moving his family here wasn’t why he was a shitty coach either but it’s an easy narrative I guess.

As if this thread wasn't made as a direct comparison to the baseball team.

Spare me the bullshite.

Keep in mind it's coming from people claiming DVH "doesn't have it" a year removed from the best team in Arkansas baseball history.

This fanbase got unbelievably spoiled in record time.

It absolutely was made after hearing things like “whelp….” “Uh, we’ve just got to get our mind right, etc.”. Our men’s coaches make MILLIONS of dollars to coach sports. You’re damned right that I have an expectation to see more. If I ever made excuses like that to my boss ever in my life, I wouldn’t have received any sympathy and probably would’ve been reprimanded or fired on the spot. I don’t care if it’s a fake script, but there should be answers and direct accountability. You can downvote me all you want - your opinion is yours and mine is mine. Doesn’t mean either of us are right or wrong. Usually it’s somewhere in-between (sorry that last line sounded like an Aggie riddle…).

That team didn't get nearly as close to a national title as other Razorback teams have.

So, to me, I'd take the 2018 team every day over last year's squad.

Agree 100%. If it were basketball, do we care more about making it deep into the dance and possibly winning a title, or do we care that we “won the regular season”. Same thing with football. If you asked any Hog fan if they cared more about winning the CFP or going undefeated in regular season and winning the conference but losing in the CFP, which would they pick?

He says as he melts over a season that hasn't even had its postseason played yet.

Have fun with that. I'm taking last year's team pre Pallette injury every time.

I’m willing to make a ban bet that we don’t make it out of regionals and we see more swings with eyes closed than ever. I’ll eat crow silently, publicly, whatever if we win. Just don’t see it happening.

Just trying to figure out your logic. Why are you melting about DVH over a regular season outcome when the only thing that matters is a postseason that hasn't been played yet? You are aware that DVH has taken regional 2 seeds to Omaha before, correct? This wouldn't even be the worst team to do that since he's been here.

You seem awfully absolute about a sport that has no absolutes.

Because I’ve watched enough sports and specifically Razorback sports to know when we’ve given up. We aren’t nearly as salty as those old 2 seed teams and we’ve absolutely been losing at a high rate lately. You can see the body language of the entire team and coaching staff. They’ve given up for some reason. I do agree that I can’t empirically prove this, so that’s my basis for where I’m at with it. I’d love it if you’re right and I’m totally wrong and look like a complete fool and we turn things around. They’ve not given a reason when anything’s been on the line this year for me to think that’ll happen. Lot of shittin’ the bed lately.

What were your expectations for this season coming in? Would you have considered losing in the Super Regionals a failure at the beginning of this year, if so, why?

I wasn’t expecting a drop in production and pitching with almost every single returning player and I wasn’t expecting us to get worse as the season went on. That’s not a typical MO for us under DVH. Yes, I believe that we should be Omaha bound almost every year and it’s been 5. We recruit (supposedly), have the talent, facilities, support, etc. to be elite and we have been good. Last year was honestly a disappointment and a miracle at the same time. We rode Kopp’s arm until we couldn’t and we saw the end result. I honestly don’t see why you keep poking with different versions of the same overarching question. It’s very circular and you’re just trying to argue enough back and forth to then find some minuscule detail to hang your hat on for validation that you’re right when we’re talking opinions that aren’t going to change. I can live with you having a different opinion and would still high five you and buy you a beer cheering the Hogs on regardless if we ever crossed paths. If I knew how, I’d do the cheers emoji.
