The truth is that the pay to play needs to be controlled. With out it, the game is going to be ruined.

Bama has been in trouble in the 90’s and early 2000’s for paying players to play. Then bama goes from 7-5 in Saban 1st year to powerhouse over night. I’m sure you think that was clean right? Only difference now and back then it’s actually legal now and no one has to worry about getting caught anymore and Saban can’t take it. Saban don’t like it if someone has a chance to even the playing field. Remember Dre Kirkpatrick from Gadsden Al didn’t come from a family with money, but as soon as he committed to bama he is seen driving a brand new Dodge Charger the very next week. He is just 1 example. There are many others. So don’t be naive to think Bama don’t cheat when that hasn’t been the case. Saban is the best at keeping his hands clean and not getting caught.

Except it isn't.

It's just as much of a violation to pay recruits now as it ever has been.

How many times are you going to say the same thing to only read this again:

WHERE DID ANYBODY SAY BAMA WAS CLEAN?

It's amazing to me that people like you are still completely oblivious to how easily this can happen legally. It's not the 80s when interest rates were high(but it might be coming back soon).

Getting a loan is so easy these days, you pretty much gotta be a total frick up to not qualify for one. But most players might not even need one to start with because of all the legal money they are given each year.

Players were eligible for about $26k+ in money, ranging from grant money(where all those pictures of recruits holding up a bunch of cash typically come from, you can tell by their timing). And then the schools are allowed to give them money legally for anything from housing, clothing, food and even travel money to go home on. And let's not for get the stipend money they also get now.

On top of all that, they are still eligible for student loans if they choose.

And if that's not enough, vehicles the players drive are one of the most monitored things at schools. If a player drives a new car on campus, the AD will know about it immediately.

So if there is cheating going on, you're going to need something better than someone was driving a new car.
