You act like Baton Rouge, College Station, Starkville, Gainsville, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or Knoxville are tourist destinations.
They aren't...but those of us that went to University at these places love them...and love going back for sporting events.
People that went to school in Norman love it...for the same irrational reasons that we all love our college towns.
There are reasons to oppose the addition of OU...television markets, travel times, etc., but the notion that there isn't enough history or tourism in the state for them to be added to the SEC is nonsense.

Fans of traditional SEC schools enjoy trips to other SEC towns because of the history and nostalgia, so you may be onto something regarding Norman.
I don’t really know what kind of “tv market” OK brings, hell we may as well invite Kansas State next.

travel times
Norman and Baton Rouge are the same distance from College Station. But I agree a bit, the travel is going to suck.. mostly for us, tbh.
I know shite talk is the norm here and I love that, but guys.. I'm fricking pumped for SEC road games. Can't wait. Football is religion in this state, and it's become very hard to get excited for road trips to Manhattan or Lawrence KS, Lubbock, Waco, Stillwater, etc.
I think you'll enjoy visits to Norman. Culturally, this will be a great fit.

Well Knoxville is only an hour away from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
