TE John Fitzpatrick had stress fractures in both feet for most of last season. He chose to play through the pain instead of surgery. He had surgery on his left foot on January 12, and on his right foot four weeks later. He also helped Brock Bowers with learning the playbook and with blocking technique.

I think Fitzpatrick will get drafted late because of his blocking skill.

I think he will have a fine career in real estate.

To my downvoters, Fitzpatrick graduated as a real estate major.

Sure, but you know that’s not what you were implying.

He's the third best TE on a college team. You think he's NFL material? Ok.

Woerner was completely off the radar, no combine, only pro day, but was drafted in the 6th because of his blocking. Fitzpatrick made more of contribution than Woerner did and was a better blocker. I know that wasn’t necessarily Woerner’s fault but still.

Probably 5th best when you consider Woerner and Nauta.

Isnt Woerner more athletic?

Apples and oranges.
Cade Mays was a great blocker as a 6th lineman. Not athletic enough to play TE in the pros.

So are y’all arguing that he is not good enough to block in the NFL? Woerner ended up being drafted before Nauta because of his blocking. Nauta was invited to the combine and Woerner wasn’t. My reason of bringing up Woerner was not to have a detailed conversation about Fitz and his similarities and differences. It was to bring up that Woerner literally was under the radar if you weren’t a UGA fan. He wasn’t invited to the combine. Fitz wasn’t invited to the combine and was a better blocker. Woerner was drafted because of his blocking. Are y’all not getting what I’m saying? I could be wrong but I root for all UGA players to get to the next level. Fitz makes sense. To me at least.

Debatable.

Yeah. And he still has to be athletic enough to reach defenders. Athleticism.

Woerner was suggested as a possible safety at UGA. I think the athletic comparison is relevant. Everything is bigger and faster in the nfl.

Im not rooting against Fitz. Actually, im a huge fan. But the nfl doesnt care who i like and i try to be objective.

Same here. I hope he makes millions in the nfl, but like 99% of college athletes he is more likely to make millions in real estate, without the CTE.

You were right.

Drafted or udfa, i liked fitz's chances of making some money in the league.

The kid works his tail off and his height cant be coached.

Good call.
