Has the GOAT ever explained his reasoning for holding one spring practice on the Friday before SB? I know he’s done that this year and in the past too I believe.

Pretty certain he’s done it for over a decade now.
He’s explained the reasoning. But basically to get everyone in and on the same page. Send them off with expectations for the remainder of the camp.

I have always wondered if it was to keep the guys from leaving campus early, and cutting classes.

pretty sure these new guys have homework per se to help them get into the Bama way after one day and they should be able to come back ready to hit the ground running
