Per Twitter. Didn't see this coming. Anyone know the story? All I see is he is "stepping aside".

Per TnD insider, there had been some squabbling between Monk and Luke in the past, but was supposedly ameliorated, but maybe not?

Per Rusty, according to TnD, Luke just wants to spend more time with family, and family will be staying in Athens, which is also weird. I hope he doesn't have cancer or something.

The ole "spend more time with my family" thing generally does not wash.
Problems in the coaching staff or something. Why not right after the NCG?? What has changed in the last 40 days??

I think Arch going elsewhere at least had anlittle to do with it. I think that was a big part of his coming here to begin with. That and recruiting olineman is a real niche to get the 5 stars to come...

Those buyout clauses typically require you to at least search for commensurate work. Ed O's was different, as was Richt's, but that's not the norm.

Hunch that it really is down to two. Luke has at Arch's basketball game a few weekends ago with GA guys and now he has resigned...

Makes sense to me.
With NIL and the portal etc, it’s getting to where you almost have to be a psychopath to get into the college coaching profession. So who can blame him?
I’m glad there’s psychopaths like Kirby out there that want to endure it because I still love the sport (for now), but I can’t relate. To me, the goal has always been to work as hard as you can so that you can work less and less as time goes on. To me, the money college coaches make isn’t worth the time they put in. I’ll never understand it.

I don’t read every post or click all links. I’ll take your word for it that you posted video of Kirby calling himself a psychopath and describing how he can’t believe there’s broken people that want do what he does 24/7 365 for vanity and trophies
