Seriously your beloved team has been "professional" since at least Saban arrived- Bama has been hiring far more "coaches" than allowed and calling them analysts until the NCAA just gave up trying to regulate them, it has certainly been paying players in one way or another for decades, and these players weren't allowed to have a college experience- if they didn't pan out like they were projected to, they were kicked out unceremoniously with scholarships yanked. Actually, Bama's (among other schools) culture of not caring about anyone that couldn't help them on the field is a big reason why the pendulum has swung so sharply the other way, so you have no one to blame except for your own program.

What college athlete at power 5 schools are struggling to make it through college
everything is taken care of for them from academic tutors to cafeteria spreads that caters to the athlete, all of that costs money
Despite what you hear, college athletes are not starving on campus or hurting for anything that they need with the resources schools put into it
The only additional money they should get is enough to fly home in an emergency or over a holiday where their sport is not playing
Or money earned from autographs or something like that or is really wrong if a restaurant owner comps their meal every once in awhile

Take a look a CfB history or even the present dynamics. Alabama is not alone in this, and your latching onto it and missing the bigger picture only shows your own bias. Likely nothing will change your view of the narrative you have latched onto, so good day.

So Saban and Bama have been cheating by hiring more coaches? Why hasn’t any other school done this…oh wait.
Bama’s been paying players…got any proof outside your own delusional head? Seriously. You think a) any school could get away with it for that long and b) you think Saban has to considering his track record for putting players in the NFL?
And Saban just discards the players he doesn’t need. Can you give me any example of a player who has had negative comments about Saban regarding such? Most of his former players are very respectful of him. Seems like this would have been a scandal at some point.
Typical jealous non-Bama fan…
