in the espn article on RJF and Tebow..

quote:

"OK, this is the game," Hicks told the paper. "This week, there's nothing else that really matters. There's no worrying about the bye week after LSU. It's just nothing but 8 p.m. this Saturday night.

Florida is coming to play. That quote even fires me up and Im just watching.

And what does Tebow do to react to this? He got flooded with phone calls last season and did the dial-on-the-hand move..

Now RJF is looking to put him on the sidelines. Curious to see what Tebows on-field rebuttal is

I have no clue what to make of this game. On one hand, FL is probably playing to save their season and not fall 2 games behind Vandy. Tebow will be fired up, as will their team.

On the other hand, we've had 2 weeks to rest and prepare and gameplan. Our players should be fired up.

My Prediction: If we can survive the initial craziness of the first quarter and the game is close, we have a very good shot of winning. We managed to do it at AU, even though we were down at the half.

I think there is unnecessary non-sense about RJF comments. Spin doctors have made it an "issue" and Florida (team/fans)wants to use that as BB material and some fans are pissed about the comments itself.
Get a grip...this is football...People hit, people get injured and people get treated. And when they are back, the cycle goes on. RJF said it and now it's BB material? Tell you what, this is LSU vs Florida, a match up of the past two champions. You don't need that crap to get you fired. Both teams are going to show up and it would be a festivity for the college football world.

I believe RJF said what he said but by no means was he implying that he or anyone else on the team throw a cheap shot at Tebow. This is football people and I'm sure he will try to hit Tebow hard enough to send him to the sidelines and I'm sure the gators defense will be trying to hit out QB the same way. Anyone with common since knows this.

I was detecting fear in Ricky's voice during that retraction.

Ricky's fear of the hat? I think LSU has a great chance to win this contest even if it is in the Swamp. Like the man said in his post, we just need to not give up short fields and early points from miscues. LSU's offensive line needs to blow some holes in that Florida defense.

I know what RJF meant by his quote, but it still was a really stupid thing to say.

I'll tell you what would be kind of amusing to see...Tebow knocking RJF out of the game. It could happen since RJF is already injured, imagine if Ricky tried to run him down and exerted himself so much he strained his groin again just as he hit Tebag. He'd remain down with the groin and it would look like Timmay knocked him out of the game, at least the media would report it that way.

I'd also settle for Ricky actually knocking Tebow out of the game though!

LuckLes, you're right it was an ill-advised comment by a kid who's jacked up to play the biggest game of his season...I don't think that when the kids start knocking each other senseless that they're going to be thinking about RJF's comments...but I sure hope that RJF brings it full force this game and backs up his talk...sans anyone getting hurt, tho.

I like what Les said about the comments. "Peripheral chatter is irrelevant."

There is alot of pressure on Urban and Tebow to win this game. Another home loss would be pretty bad for them. If they need RJF quotes to be motivated, they are already in trouble.

Oh my god, I'm going to miss this game...my daughter is in a high school pageant Saturday night. I thought I was cool since Bama is off, but didn't think about other games...
