I have rewatched every 2021 game and saw some interesting things. When Daniels was healthy (USC, Vandy, Auburn) he was really good passing and running the offense, but his injuries never allowed him to develop into the elite QB we all were hoping he would be.
Bennett (other than the UAB game) started the season slow and made several bad and puzzling throws but got better as the season progressed. Bennetts progress followed the WRs and TEs development during the season. By the end of the year even Carson Beck looked good throwing the ball because everyone was catching whatever got thrown their way. Still can't figure out why the defense was so bad in the SECCG.

Bennett improved as he went from mental reps to 1st team reps. Yes mental reps, not my words.

We played the same way in the first half vs OU kind of a make the qb beat us bend dont break, BY broke it off in us throwing over the d with too much time in the pocket.

But in the NC game the defense gave BY no time to make good throws. That's what I was talking about. But I mentioned before the NC game that our blitz package need to be straight blitzing rather than all those stunts we ran in the SECCG that took too long to get to Young. That was the biggest change we made.

I hate myself for thinking this, but I think the conference had us phone it in. There's no other explanation for how the defense played.

That’s the thing about conspiracy theories. They sound ridiculous to begin with but usually have some truth to them. Bama wins and there are two SEC teams in the CFB. We win and it’s ND instead. That’s a lot of money for the conference riding on us losing.

Anyways, interesting point about the improvements of the WRs having more to do with Bennett’s game play than his improvements.

We still zone blitzed. But instead of dropping back a travon walker or other DL, we dropped back an edge player(nolan, tindall, Beal).

But you are correct. We sent 5 and 6 more often, too.

That was a big difference in 2020 as well getting guys back for JT in the last 4 games.

Im hoping an offseason at #1 could really help stetson click with the WRs.

Or, Kirby did because he wanted a shot to take out Saban in the NC?

The defensive game plan sucked. That is coaches. Yeah, our guys were gassed and did a lot of conditioning work between the games, but the defensive calls were very questionable. Auburn showed the week before how to handle Bryce. We had much better athletes and chose not to follow their strategy.

I am hoping one of the two new studs take over in spring. Just because a kid gets us the NC, shouldn't guarantee him the spot.

There is no way people actually think this is possible, right?

I'd wager most people agree with this, but the QB position is more complicated than a lot of people consider. It's not merely about who has the stronger arm or the quicker feet. The "best" QB isn't always the most physically talented one in the locker room, and if you have a coach that is determined to win games today rather than take the lumps needed to win in a year, the QB that starts the game isn't necessarily going to be the one the fans want. And that's not necessarily the wrong approach, either.

I hope we start the QB that gives us the best chance to win the games ahead of us. If that's Bennett, then great, but if it's another QB, then great, too, but it's tough to bench the guy that helped us win a national championship unless there is a guy that is clearly the better option in terms of leadership, team synergy, commanding the offense, making the right reads, and executing consistently, among other things. Bennett is now the proven winner, so it's going to be hard for anyone to unseat him.

Im just talking about spring and summer my man. That is when national championships are built. When no one is looking.

My point was meant to be that Bennett, and the offense in general, got better as the season progressed. In fact, Bennetts improvement was so remarkable that he was able to lead the team to the national championship.
I expect the spring practice to be very spirited with competition at the QB spot. Beck actually looked good late in the season in his limited action.
