The new basketball arena was in the works before A&M raised the stakes in the football recruiting arms race.

Do you guys really want a new basketball arena more than you want the best football players? Maybe there's a better use for that money.

A new arena doesn't necessarily equate to anything.
Let's look at the overall college basketball arena scene.
Most blue blood teams play in arenas as old, or older, than Coleman.
Most are smaller in size.

I'm not saying a new arena wouldn't be very welcomed, it's just that a new arena wouldn't guarantee anything.

No hate. It just seems like a silly hypothetical. I doubt funds raised for a new basketball arena would be diverted to anything else.

Basketball arena first.

if there's anything left over, spend it lowering prices for basketball tickets.

10,000 seat arena...but it doesn't have to have golden urinals. ADs prove with coaches contracts they don't know how to save money or spend it judiciously when it's not coming out of their own pockets.

The biggest problem with Coleman is its size and design. Auburn Arena is a vastly superior arena and is one of the smaller ones out there.

The problem with Coleman stems from being too large for our fan base to have a consistently good crowd and a sound design that drowns out the crowd's impact. Our fans have to be three times as loud as Auburn fans to get the same home court impact.

I said from the moment Byrne released the Crimson Standard that he should've held the football facility improvements hostage and put Coleman first on the list of priorities if he truly wanted that renovation.

New arena all day, twice on Sunday.

Saban won’t be here forever but he will live on forever.

If we lower the capacity to 10,000, that won't be needed. It also won't be feasible either. Ticket prices will 100% for sure increase.

New arena, nothing to do with football. Football will always find the money to do what it wants.
New facility @12000, minimum.
Winning at basketball is the key. Will bring in fans. Have a plan to increase the student tickets if any game is not a sell out. Go up and down with the demand. Out of state student enrollment will go up if we have a top tier BB program, just like with football.

LOL, out of state student enrollment is up about as high as it needs to be.

Also, Bama will never be a blue blood in basketball, no matter how much money they throw at it.
