Maybe the NFL needs a lottery draw for the #1 pick.

Take the bottom eight or ten teams and do a weighted chance lottery.

nah, they won't do that until/unless we see what happened in 1985:

the Patrick Ewing lottery. Most desired guy in decades, and you had a chance to get him somewhere important. He went to New York, instead of going to either Golden State or Indiana

There's only one certainty here. Flores will never coach in the NFL again. This is career suicide.

His career is probably already over after he refused to comply with an owner's wishes. He's blackballed across the league at this point. Nothing to lose.

Godell will do nothing to the giants either...

That's lost in the noise here, but important. Owner shouldn't have to pay him to do something strategically good for the organization. The $100K is meaningless against his salary, but an acknowledgment of the inconvenience. Not following the advice of the guy who writes your check rarely ends well, especially if it cost you the #1 overall pick.

Weird to watch real time career suicide, even if he's right. Seems more "you weren't the guy" than "you weren't the guy b/c of race" but I have no clue.
