"Certain weekends we could get 15,16,17 thousand people in here. I believe that...I think we're going to have to expand it."

Couple that comment with BM donors being relegated to the Hog Pen this year for season tickets, and it looks like expansion to an upper deck is going to happen.

Ugh, hopefully it's not the kiss of death for this program too.

Well deserved and would be glad to see it. I love Baum and hope more get to enjoy it. We just have a terrible track record with performing in expanded stadiums or expanding as bad shite happens.

Demand is there. People still on waiting list for season tickets. Adding an upper deck likely also gives a price option for someone to have seats that maybe can only afford the Hog Pen price level season ticket.

SEC baseball isnt going anywhere and the Arkansas baseball following has only grown since DVH arrived.

I think we really hit our stride when DVH retires and Vitello comes home after completing his training at Tenner. Get the ball rolling on the upper deck now and should be finished right in time.

If the MLB strike were to continue. College/SEC baseball might get a big lift.

Just sayin'

I believe DVH still has 10 years left in him...that is too long to wait on expansion. I believe we see expansion begin in the next year or two.

There are currently thousands on the baseball season ticket wait list. Broyles Matthews donors being relegated to the Hog Pen. Wait list for suites(this has been years and years).

Baseball is a bit of a different corporate animal...corporations will buy the added suites and they dont normally buy blocks of seats in the stadium.

Baseball is just such a huge draw for a family as well...You can get 4 tickets for $40 and you can make an entire weekend out of it, which is different than any other mens sport on campus. Tailgate if you want as well. I think this is the biggest reason for fan interest...ticket prices are adequate, fills 3 days of weekend, good to great product on the field.

I can understand that. Over expansion has hurt a lot of schools. It hasn't done any favors for Arkansas when it comes to football either.

But, as others have said, I think a modest upgrade with the likely demand, would pay off. If we keep the prices within reach of the average family it will remain very popular for the locals and entice alumni to come back for a weekend series.

Where exactly would they put new seats? I think the obvious place would be in left field but then the hog pen will suffer. Unless they put some tall stand above the chairbacks out there

Expansion will happen sooner than later. I'm all for it especially after visiting Dudy Noble last season.

I also think they should include more suits. The demand is absolutely there.

Definitely it's what others have said about yeah we could be timing this just right with dvh retiring....kinda feels like i watched a very similar plot movie once that went super poorly

Armani, Ralph Lauren, Hugo Boss, HSM? I would prefer less Suits and more Suites myself !

We're not allowed to upgrade a stadium and retain the coach afterwards. This is the first red flag of his tenure ending.

Where would everyone want, say, 2500 more seats...

You’ll have to build a second structure above the current suites and add an upper deck.

To get to 17,000, you’re talking about adding about 5-7k chairbacks.

This is the option I think we go with.

Can we put the bullpen on the roof and have the relievers parade down thru the crowd high fiving?

There college stadiums now that have upper decks. Dudy Noble and Blue Bell are the first two that come to mind.

Leave press box and suites as they are. Go up and go from 1st to 3rd base. Add suites around the top deck as well.

There’s also an option to add a few seats by enclosing left field and adding seats to fill in the corner gap where the hot tub used to be and where they have the bar top chairs in the concrete area. Won’t add many, but you can connect right field line to left field seats and circle around a few more suites.

I’d be curious to know what the waiting list for suites is right now.

Is there enough to put at a second level of suites with an upper deck on top of them on one of the base lines?

Next question what looks more appealing to the eye. Would it be better to start over home plate and work our way out as needed?
