Arkansas fans: what is the story with Sam Carter?

He is being considered at Ole Miss. I know that he has recruited well, but isn’t he the coach that caused so many departures recently?

There were some rumors that all his players hated him, but then Catalon said that was not true. Who knows. Would be strange for him to leave after the transfer DBs we've just landed

He didn’t cause those departures.
Basically after being benched at times this year (Foucha and Brooks) they were told their spots weren’t guaranteed as starters and they’d have to compete so they found somewhere they could play.
I could see him leaving though if some of the rumblings are true about the DBs not liking him

That was just Twitter rumblings. I've yet to see anything substantiated beyond social media rumors.
Arkansas Twitter's go-to when a player unexpectedly leaves is to say they hated their position coach. Same thing happened when Mike Woods transferred last year...and that just ended up being bullshite.

He's an old school, hardass coach and that probably rubs some players wrong but he's a really good recruiter. Also heard he has a temper during games but a lot of what has been said is probably exaggerated.
Odom promoted him from being a GA at Missouri so I'd be surprised if he left with Odom still here, guess you never know though.

After relieving Terrell Buckley of his duties last week, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin has made his hire to replace the former cornerbacks coach in Oxford.

Coach Carter is a hard working coach. Great recruiter. He did a good job for us.
In order to expand his coaching, he needed to move on, it will help his resume. He still a young and hungry.

He frickin/try-ta-frick player's GFs. Budget DB coach, we didnt try to counter offer.
Will fit right in with Joey Freshwater as a wingman. Your DBs will get torched, though, and blow assignments. Also- he'll waste a lot of recruiting budget going back in forth to "back home" in Nawlins while never landing anybody from there above a 3*.

Who knows. Sounds like he's not well liked by some of the players and assistants...according to fan gossip. Odom seemed to like him.
I didn't even know who he was until Foucha and Brooks hit the Portal and gossip got out.
If he was at Mizzou with Odom then he had some good secondary there.
