What's the difference between opting out of the Sugar Bowl and the CFP?

Please explain this to me.

I'm still waiting for an answer. What is the difference between Matt Corral getting injured in the Sugar Bowl and getting injured in the Cotton Bowl?

No difference. Same argument about any regular season or postseason game for any high profile player in their junior year.

There is none. I’m not sure how this all started.

The idea is that the playoff still has something tangible to play for. A chance to be a national champion. Big difference between a sugar bowl win and a national title.
Who won the sugar bowl in 2013? I have no idea. I know FSU won the title though.
I wouldn't fault a player for opting out of either. It's a business, which it seems most fans can't understand.

Is this a real question?
What’s the difference between playing for a chance to play in the championship and playing Baylor?

So there's no difference between the Sugar Bowl Championship and the National Championship?

A chance to play for a National Championship
Are you serious?

We have LSU's Leonard Fournette at the end of the 2016 season to thank for this nonsense of opting out. The original 8 and 4feit.

Yeah, must be a coincidence that a Bama fan forgot about the Sugar Bowl for the 2013 season.

Was that the OU game?

Okay...I'll grant you. However, humor me here. Let's say Matt Corral was injured in the CFP National Championship Game in a heroic final play. His team wins, but he blows out his knee, and his career is effectively over. Sure...his team won the national championship but he just lost out on (potentially) tens of millions of dollars.
A national championship ring does not make up for the loss in revenue and a meal ticket anymore than a Sugar Bowl ring does. Sooner or later, a superstar will suffer a major injury in the CFP and will lose out on millions. Once that happens, with the precedent of opting out already set, players will begin to sit out the CFP.

For one you playing for a National Championship.
It doesn't come along every day because a college career is 3 years minimum.
Number two is you got 8 months to recover before the actual NFL season starts.
Number is thefuya that gave got hurt had a pretty damn good NFL career. Willis Mcaghaee, Corral will do well in the NfL just my opinion of course

Because you can only get hurt in bowl games that aren’t for the national title.

There’s quite a large risk vs reward gap when it comes to being injured in the playoffs vs a regular bowl game
Use your smarts

How is there? An injury is an injury. You, as a fan, are placing value on a national championship. A player will look at himself in the mirror and place value on his body. He can't afford to get injured, he'll tell himself. He's got two kids to feed and a struggling mother to provide for. One blow to the knee before that first round singing bonus and it's over. He and his family lose out on EVERYTHING.
Tell me...how does getting injured in the national championship game as opposed to the Sugar Bowl make up for that kind of loss? I'm dying to see your argument.

Do draft prospects for a player ever really exponentially change that much in a CFP or NC game compared to a NY6/regular bowl

There is no difference and it's only a matter of time till kids "quit" before the playoffs or even before the season has ended.
