Y’all sure Jimmy Sexton isn’t Harsin’s agent?
Posted on 12/7/21 at 6:40 am to jvilletiger25
Sexton loves raping Auburn over Kohls

May be true, but seems like speculation. Poor journalism.

Well... it is from a past AU beat reporter so... if he wants out let him walk...

So if Harsin becomes the new duck man, who you got? Throw the bank at Fickell or Aranda?
Posted on 12/7/21 at 6:48 am to jvilletiger25
We should try Fickle because Aranda is capricious

Now how the frick does this jabrone know he is “angling to get out”. That Clickbait whore doesn’t know any more than anybody else on this board

Some of these guys just throw something against the wall.
The way he says it doesn’t have even a reference to a source so if Harsin. And Washington are a good rumor, he’ll let’s throw out Oregon now too since in the same region. Ha.

Why would Oregon want to hire a coach who was 6-6 and should have been 9-3 except for bad coaching?

The regular media is bad enough with lies, but the sports media is even worse. The sports media is the wild west of rumor, speculation and innuendo. It's a sad state of affairs.
I heard Bob Stoops mention this a while back. I am paraphrasing, but he said "Well, I was in a hotel room one morning. I just woke up and taken a shower. As I am getting dressed I hear on the TV some news that I am in contact with Notre Dame for the coaching position. Now this is news to me. I began to wonder if I have a sleep walking problem and am doing stuff in my sleep I am not aware of, because I could have sworn I was asleep all night and had not talked to anyone at Notre Dame."
He went on to say that the story was total fiction and never happened. He said the sports media can write anything without repercussions.

I love the whole “Harsin can’t wait to get out of AU but no one will hire him because he won’t say he got the jab” narrative.
Almost as good as the “Tuberville wants the LSU job because he figured out he’ll never be able to outrecruit DuBose, but they won’t consider hiring him because of the cigar incident” narrative back at the end of his first season at AU.

The problem isn't that the reported likely made that up. Though its possible.
The problem is people in positions to have info often put out false information. A reporter only has to garner two sources for it to be considered credible. If a false narrative is properly created then its not hard to have two people share the same misinformation.
I find it hard to believe Harsin based on what we saw this year and his past resume would be under serious consideration for the Washington or Oregon jobs...however once schools strike out a few times they fall back to guys like Harsin so who knows.

Thats a great anecdote from Stoops - but Jimmy Sexton was his agent, so either a)Sexton leaked the ND rumor to the reporter or 2)Sexton had actually talked to ND about Stoops (even if inquiring on behalf of another of his clients) and the reporter found out.
In any case, I seriously doubt the report Stoops heard in his hotel room was entirely unfounded, even if he himself had no knowledge of the source.
That said, I would be very surprised if Harsin were to bail on AU after one season. But yaneverknow.

I know. And I love it. Just the audacity to write what he did makes me enjoy the pop shots that he receives.
This is why modifiers and escape hatches are needed in journalism. He does not know Harsin’s plans and he doesn’t know what Harsin wants, but he is certain that Harsin will be back in the Pacific Northwest. Cringe
