I’m sure some people are saying that, but what I’m thinking is how long can you add 25-46% of your population before you become a homogenized version of every other city. If I had wanted to live in Nashville or Austin I would move there, but we are getting a bunch of people who can’t be there, so they come here and try to make us them.

If we had a year over year census, I would bet from the beginning of the pandemic til now we have gained 10-20% of our population. Our property taxes and rent are sky rocketing. The roaming drug dens that we call homeless is worse and so is the crime, not just minor crime either, major crimes like rapes and murders.

People are moving here because jobs are here. It’s not going to stop anytime soon. I don’t foresee crime becoming a large issue here then again I am born and raised LR so “rising crime” in Fayetteville is arbitrary. I would focus on how to capitalize on the population shift or just go ahead and move to Siloam Springs.
