Thank God, and a damned shame he didn't do it sooner. His "defund the police" stunt to reject the student-resource officer grant showed his true colors.

That little piece of political theater has cost this city much in the way of good police officers, public safety, and money. That's the primary reason Fayetteville having to throw bonuses to hire new cops.

Very many good young officers moved on to closeby, less hostile jurisdictions.

I used to like Petty, but he is a dyed-in-the-wool Leftist nutjob these days. A quick glance at his social media shows who he has become.
