Bryce & the Heisman

He's considered the leader for it now...why should he be punished, should Bama lose, for leading his team to the conference championship game while his closest competition, Stroud, is sitting at home, coming off a loss and didn't even lead his team to their conference championship game?
I don't get this "Bama has to win Sat" narrative when it comes to the Heisman. Say Bama loses the game, Bryce plays decent, but nothing spectacular... maybe 250 yards and an INT...Bama loses by 10 points hypothetically.
Who would get your first place vote over him? The guy sitting home not even playing on championship Saturday? It's not a defensive player award... people should just accept that fact. So who?

The media is doing everything they can to give it to Hutchinson at Michigan(Who’s numbers are nowhere close to Will Anderson’s btw)

It's his to lose. Whether Bama wins or not, Bryce only loses the Heisman if he has a bad game.

That's my thinking. I could see Bama needing a W for him to win it IF Stroud was playing in the Big Ten championship and had a big game in a win. But that's not a possible scenario. Unless Bryce just throws 4 INTs in a bad loss or something, I just don't see a viable "default" candidate.

Will Anderson is going to have two strip sacks and two TDs. He will have a Heisman moment and win.

Why must our fans always promote splitting the Heisman vote? Last year it was Smitty and Mac... thankfully they were so dominant that no alternative candidate could take advantage and sneak away with it. If Anderson siphons off just enough from Bryce, Stroud could win it...which is what a lot of people outside of UA fans are hoping happens when they try to pump up Anderson for the award.

Today's media is always....and I mean *always*....driven by a narrative.
And their narrative for this story is that Bama doesn't deserve anything.
They will do everything they can to ignore stats and pump up their narrative winner. In this case it's Hutchinson.

Kinda hard for them to say “yep Player x has won this thing already “ . Got to keep some drama going it seems . He has been the best to me but the media seems so anti SEC/ Bama

Bryce deserves the Heisman if he has a good game today. The hate for him is weird and it reminds me of 2018 when Tua got screwed over. If Hutchinson wins it then we need to just shut down the award.
There’s a weird narrative out there that Bama players battle every year. That somehow they shouldn’t win the Heisman because they play with other talented players.

They battle this dumb arse narrative during the draft as well. It makes zero damn sense. So Ohio State players don’t play with talented teammates??

He's the vegas odds on favorite

If he plays well and UA wins he's probably near a lock. If he plays well and UGA wins it's iffy.

That narrative has shifted for both Bryce and even Anderson. For Bryce (for much of the year) it was he shouldn’t win the award just because he plays for Bama. Implying that his supporting cast is the reason why. Now it’s shifted to his OL is bad yes, but he makes them worse because he crumbles under pressure. Ignoring it’s hard for any QB, no matter how good, to not experience a drop off when under pressure constantly. Most of these people weren’t impressed by him in the slightest after that IB finish. They thought he was complete trash.
For Anderson, playing on a Bama defense that’s had some struggles every now and again has caused people to take less notice of him. People are trying to say he plays more snaps. In addition, I’ve seen a number of fans (particularly UGA ones) say his numbers are big BECAUSE he doesn’t play with a great supporting cast. Essentially he’s getting sacks and TFLs that otherwise would’ve gone to other players had they been better.
Essentially these types of people, which are a massive portion of CFB fans, will do their best to downplay Bama players no matter what. If the OL plays like shite today, they’ll still blame Bryce for most of it. If Anderson is contained (double and triple teamed) because UGA knows he’s the best player, they’ll feel validated.

The ballots have the committee members rank the finalists 1-4, and the winner is determined by the highest average. The fan vote only counts as one ballot. This all helps prevent teammates from splitting votes, avoiding a dark horse winner.
