Article talks about him using weed to fight stress/depression. Seems like he is fighting the good fight. Really hope for nothing but the best for this kid.
LINK
Also, interestingly - story from AL.com regarding the article styles it: "Tyrann Mathieu tells ESPN The Magazine he was battling depression during BCS title game" even though that's not really the takeaway I got from the actual ESPN article.
LINK
Last note - most interesting part of the article not about TM states that: "LSU coach Les Miles had a reputation for smelling the alcohol in a player's sweat during practice, which made marijuana the players' drug of choice." That just seems odd to me.

Can't believe it took this long for this to make its way over here.

Why?
I had never heard about smelling alcohol in sweet. Maybe that's really common. I drink a good bit but have never smelled alcohol when I worked out.

I used to go to work after staying out until 3 am and coworkers would tell me they could smell the booze in my sweat.
It's real.
It's real.

Don't plan on reading the article, but the subject matter sounds like TM is lobbing multiple reasons to NFL teams to avoid him as a pick.

Why were you sweating at work?

That's my one worry for the kid. Depression is a real deal and it appears like he is working to deal with it, but I don't know that I would talk about it publicly pre-draft.

Everybody sweats a little all the time.
You've seriously never heard of the beer sweats?

I am learning a lot today.
I'm always cold. The secretaries in our office bring in personal heaters and they are located next to the thermostat. So it makes the offices super cold.
My wife can smell one beer on my breath no matter how long ago I drank but she has never said anything about my sweat.

Its a distinct smell and its rancid. 16 mile runs after a long night of boozing were always a blast.

Alright. Sounds like I am either not drinking enough or not sweating enough.
Unfortunately, it probably has to be the sweating.
