Let's make this simple.

It is almost universally accepted that whomever becomes the next HC at AU needs to be given complete control. That means no one looking over his shoulder questioning every decision, no one making him run the program with one hand tied behind his back, no one 'suggesting' which assistants to hire, etc.

Based on the above, which man do you believe is better suited to handle this amount of responsibility?

I have very serious reservations about handing over the keys to Lane Kiffin. But between him and Hugh Freeze, he is unquestionably the better choice.

You just start following college football? I guess you've never seen a team have a letdown after a very big road win, huh?

Let me throw a couple of facts at you. Liberty has lost 3 games this year by a combined total of 5 points. They are down to their 3rd string QB. You are an idiot if you don't think that's pretty remarkable, especially considering Liberty just jumped to FBS a couple of years ago.

Ole Miss has lost three games (so far) by a combined total of 46 points.

Arky scored 42 on Kiffin and 21 on Freeze.

Signature wins don’t mean shite if you’re stuck begging at Liberty.

He lost 2 in a row goose. That’s not “letdown” related.

Let it go.

You need to grow up and stop being so condescending to the board.

Good luck to ya goose.

One of these coaches has been fired from Ole Miss. The other one currently has a blank checkbook from the place.

He got beat.

Now using the lane excuses: the was down to his 3rd and 4th string liberty QBs and Auburn this and 2012 proves how much a QB matters.

Kiffin is about 5% against anyone good. Now explain why that equals a good HC.

When you are down to your 3rd string QB, do you really think you are winning most of your games? Yet Liberty is, and that speaks volumes about coaching.

Coaches don’t go to Sugar Bowls for signature wins.

Freeze has gotten beat 5x or more at Liberty twice.

He is nothing special.

Even Turner Gill had Liberty at 6-6.

We could get Freeze for a lot less,

Who cares. Our NIL is just fine and we don't have to scrimp on coaches salaries to supplement it.

actually understands the political nature of an SEC HC.

Kiffin has more time in the SEC as HC and a coordinator. One less year as HC than Freeze and has worked for 2 Big 6 programs (plus USC which is a school with blue blood status due to their history).

I think he knows his way around a fundraising room.

@ #4 Oregon
Ranked Arky
Ranked A&M
@ Neyland last year despite the most hostile environment I've seen in years.
Kentucky has lost a few games but they were top 10 earlier this year before Lane humbled them.
Top Ten Indiana in a bowl game with his worst Ole Miss team.

I keep repeating these and get no response.

Freeze fanatics hold up two Bama wins as an entire resume. Kiffin has been well within the margins to beat Bama twice in 3 years. You are staking an entire coaching hire on some marginal bounces of a ball. This is why people say not to make decisions based on emotion.

Uhh, try using a company phone to call hookers.

What do you think the first thing Saban, Kirby, or any other HC in the country is going to say as soon as they sit in front of a mom of a recruit that's thinking about Auburn and Freeze? They're gonna ask that mother how she feels about letting her son go be under the watch of a guy that was allegedly setting up hookers for recruits.

In 2009 while at Tennessee he was Mount Cody FG blocks away from beating Saban in Tuscaloosa. He is close. If he will come to Auburn we can help him with the talent and defense part, as long as he is helping himself…

Y'all are wasting your time.

Rabern and goose are "all in" on a guy who isn't even being considered as a backup plan to the backup plan.

I don't understand why they are trying to convince us he's a good choice when he isn't even a candidate for the job.

You might want to delve into that a little more. He's kinda known for being aloof with the boosters AND the fans. The term "fit" comes up a lot in regards to coaches and programs. Knowing how Auburn is, do you think that will go over well here?

Weird you brought up USC. Did you not know he was fired immedialtely after a road loss and wasn't even allowed to travel back home with the team? Do you not remember how he left TN?

Here's a little gem an OM fan made on the rant, and it's something to think about.
quote:

Not necessarily, but what are the optics of dragging the reporter that broke the Kiffin to Auburn story through the mud on Twitter, just to verify his claims by going to Auburn a few days later? Kiffin’s Twitter rant does cast some doubt over whether or not he’s leaving.

FWIW, I still think he’s going to Auburn. If that’s the case, last night was one final twist of the dagger before Kiffin kisses us gently on the lips while we succumb to the poisoned apple we just ate
