If Gaskins can be an every down back for Washington I don't see why Kam Martin cant be for us. They are similar type backs with Gaskins maybe having like 5 or so pounds on Martin. I predict a breakout season if Martin can get the blocking schemes down.

IF he cant, the main reason will probably be one goes against SEC defenses every week, and the other one doesn't

Agreed...big difference being chased by NFL DL's and LB's vs guys who will sell insurance in 4 years.

IM in a wait and see mode with Martin. Id like to think Gus knows something we dont but I have always thought he was too small to 'be the man". for us

Gus needs a horse to do what he wants. Tre Mason, Artis Payne, Dyer style. I personally never thought KJ was big or tough enough to be the guy either but he did surprise me. Though he broke down that past two seasons late, he was effective early and mid season.

This is why I have been screaming for depth, good depth, at RB for a few years. We need some meat back there. A lot of it

Hoping for Martin this year

Right guy. Wrong offense. He should have never signed with Auburn.

I am cautiously optimistic. Like every year, but we will learn a LOT in week one.

Has anybody seen anything on Sean White? I always thought he could transfer and be really, really good in a different system.

all of you who say this realize White led the SEC through week 9 (before his injury) in qb rating and yards per attempt, right?

Joey, you actually are usually one of the best posters on this page. Usually not BS. But Id like you to look at this Sean White 2016 stats and tell me where he was good. Tell me where he turned pages and would be considered leading the SEC at anything

I dont even know the QB rating stats or who was what but there is nothing on this that turns me on. He did exactly what has been said about him. He was a decent player who did what he could. Nothing great which is why he was not a great QB. Just a solid guy who was not in the right place. We were not a pocket passing team then. We need a guy who is mobile and did then.. He was neither. He could throw short consistent balls but that was basically it.

did you not comprehend what I wrote?

He
Led
The
SEC
Thru
The
Ole

Game
In
Completion
Percentage

Yards

,
and
Passer
Rating

Above Austin Allen, Trevor Knight, & Chad Kelly.

I'm sorry that you can't come to grips with FACTUAL TRUTH.

lol... the only people who think he was/would have been a great QB are ones who think some other type of offense would have suddenly made him look like dan marino

People think he would have been some kind of super star in a different offense when Gus had him as one of the top 5 QBs in the SEC and had Auburn ranked inside the top 10 before the dumbass dove on his shoulder and injured himself against Ole Miss (because apparently sliding is too hard of a concept for him).

Correct me if i am wrong, but didnt Sean have to split time in the Clemson and aTm losses with Jeremy Johnson and JF3? Then after those two loses, he was given full reigns and he went on a 6 game winning streak before Sean and Pettway were injured against Vandy?

To be fair that 6 game winning steak was against pretty bad defenses. Save maybe LSU where we kicked 24 fg's.

Why do people always discredit accomplishment around here? Winning is winning

Winning also must be kept in perspective. That team won 8 games but really played poorly against any team with a pulse. Injuries probably cost us one game against uga.

He did. iT was a total shite show. But those numbers are his. Not shared

Yes. But they were pretty shitty teams. But most of the QB's for Auburn have been successful against State, Ole Miss and Arkansas in the SEC. His best win was against LSU. He did well there. And to be honest, Vandy had our asses. We were lucky to survive.

so no excuses for when he had retarded Qb rotations

I think most believed he would be an average SEC QB capable of winning 8 or 9 games a season at Auburn. Less at other schools more at Alabama...if he could stay healthy and on the team.
