My guess is Kodi Burns becomes the new coach.

Based on your statement we need to trend upward which would consist of 8 wins. That means we're pretty much going to have to beat one of LSU, UGA, or Bama. That or run the table with Moo St, Arky, Ole Miss, and TAMU.
I believe you don't have to necessarily win games to be trending upward, especially when dealing with out performance last year. Against LSU, UGA, and Bama we were clearly outmatched. If we were able to actually be competitive in those games, and not get curb-stomped, I would think the program is "trending upward". Would you not agree?

just a continuation of the same garbage we see from Gus...

This is stupid considering we have 3 multi year SEC starters of which 2 got preseason All SEC recognition and the third started at 2 different SEC schools that were bowl eligible
We are mostly SEC talent (3/5) with some sunbelt talent (2/5)

he is the only real talent we had on O.
We got rid of the only proven talent. We have no idea if talent is there now, but we can't definitely prove it one way or the other

the most talented WRs we have are true freshman Gus will not play much due to his senioritis.
Let's ignore that Kyle Davis is coming off a major shoulder and now foot injury while NCM has his own injury issues
...... but ya, Gus would probably have them riding pine even if healthy

Gus won't make it past Halloween as coach. You think people on here are melting now. Wait til Sept 3rd.

His fate may be decided by Halloween, but he is coaching every game this year.
There is no benefit to firing a coach to midseason and we'd be incurring an extra $3-4mil in buyout or something.

since Pat Dye is still alive, our next coach has to have auburn connections. So most likely a Bowden, Tuberville back, or some lame shite. Maybe PEtrino or Nutt.

No kidding. Who gives a shite about Jovon Robinson. Austin Wiley is probably getting in early. That's leaps and bounds more important. #basketballschool

I'm not saying Gus is canned after the season, but why do people keep insisting on Tom Herman? He's had one great season as head coach. He was an offensive coordinator for 2 seasons under Meyer. Before that, what?
If you go after someone like that there's a very good chance the same thing happens that happened with Gus. He's had a couple of good seasons as a college coordinator and a solid first year. No guarantees he can maintain success.
I realize the goal is to find the next great coach and keep him for a long time, but you also have the risk that he won't pan out.

The transition from Gus to Herman would be about as seamless as you can get plus Herman adds some unique passing background to Gus' run offense.
Not saying we should fire Gus for Herman, just that if we are looking for new coaches he is a very interesting option

I have never seen a group of guys that wanted to change coaches every year like these guys. I bet the divorce rate on this board is 95%
