It is half the reason. Other half reason is Hugh leaked out Kiffin agreed to the deal to get the deal nixed.

I have seen a booster pay for an entire renovation of a recuits house (before NIL) charge them no money... It was widely done here in our area. They have a lot of big money guys there. They have a larger Alumni base than we do & fertile recruiting grounds.
Auburn is surrounded by good programs and heavily compete. Also UF is the state school...

Im sure there are lots of stories. Who knows what is true but I have a hard time believing Lane. He loves to frick with people.
Why would Hugh leaking it make Lane change his mind? What would he have to lose at the time?

Lane had a serious vendetta against the Jon Sokolov reporter that broke the Auburn-Kiffin deal for months. He constantly bashed that reporter. Dont know why he did albeit, but I think I know why he kept bashing that guy.
The deal was hush hush.

Yesterday was a different reporter that compared Ole Miss keeping a hoe (Kiffin) as the housewife. Literally no Ole Miss fan thinks differently than the reporter. If Kiffin leaves, the reporter will be a hero. If Kiffin stays the reporter is almost assuredly fired.

I’m getting rather frustrated at spending huge amounts of $ for weekend ventures to watch a garbage product… it’d be less taxing taking $2g and burning in the fire pit every Saturday

Totally understandable. Will be doing the fire pit route tonight myself. But its more of a fire table.
