Definitely not true

Kentucky was never going to give him a commitable offer and he was most certainly going to choose Auburn over Alabama.

Is that so? Well in that case, 10 year extension.

I didn't say anything like that but if you think compliance is only a minor obstacle you are fooling yourself.

even if he should have landed a player here or there that he didn't that still doesn't explain the team not knowing the situation that seems to crop up more than it should.

Fire him.

I agree that his end of game coaching is lacking. I don't particularly care for his inbounds plays either.

If we can get a better coach I'm all for it. I don't think we can under our current circumstances.

I'm just to the point where the devil i don't know is better than the one i do.

Same with lebo, it was time to fire him, only had hope we'd get a better coach, not sure we did. Barbee doesn't get a pass becuase we got burned there.

How about against mizzu when it was an inbound end of game play. I think everyone saw that shite show coming.

Dude, it's Auburn basketball. There is far less to lose than most programs at major schools. I think it's vastly overstated the handcuffing they do. It's a great excuse for an overpaid deer in the headlights.

Like how to execute in the final minutes? It's probably just low IQ, amiright? Guys probably can't tie their sneakers. I don't know how that firewall of a compliance department let these borderline mentally retarded players through the cracks. Surely test scores were altered.

frick it, intentional foul, burn it to the ground.

We need to find a coach who runs a system that is unconventional. We are going to win trying to recruit and play the same game as other schools. We can't do either

He was headed to Kansas or Alabama. His entire circle from Butler HS and metro Huntsville area were Alabama supporters. Coach Doss included. Auburn never stood a chance man. Once he didn't receive the offer from Kentucky and then Kansas hopped in it was too late.

And the same thing will happen with Joshua Langford in a couple of years at MA.

Auburn doesn't have pull in Huntsville for basketball. The only reason we landed Josh Langford was because UL got rid of him and he didn't wanna leave the state and he didn't get an offer from Alabama. There's no AU hoops influence in the 256.

what we do know is that this team will likely be worse next year when it loses it's 20 point a night scorer.

personally, i'm ready to move on... hopefully retain miller and hold the recruiting class and the roster somewhat together, and give a good coach a chance.

This is my point. Why fire him for the sake of firing someone if we won't be someone better. I don't think we can get Smart, Pearl, or those types. If we fire Barbee, we'll end up getting some up-and-coming from mid-major school and everyone will want to fire him in 4 years when it takes him awhile to undo Barbee's program and build "his program"

We fired lebo and didn't get soemone better.

Are you guys taking that as a cautionary tale adn that's why we should keep barbee?

The results certainly agree with you but I am still of the opinion that Barbee was an upgrade and has a much higher ceiling compared to Lebo. IMO attrition has really hurt Barbee. He shares in the blame for that but if he can get that singular issue figured out I still think he can be successful here.
