PT's really not a good runner. We were fooled by the Georgia game last year. Everybody was. He's quick but he's awkward. He's serviceable on a zone read at best.
The run game and pass game are so intertwined in Freeze's offense so much so that you can't single one out and call it a strength. He would have to make systematic changes, like he tried today, that just aren't gonna end up in results over one week of practice. He doesn't have that in his bag. That's somewhere that he would have to choose to grow as a coach and either do it over the final stretch of this season or during the off season next year. I think that if that's the route he chooses then he's choosing to punt on the season all the way up to maybe the iron bowl. I've been vocal today that he just needs to take the reigns off PT and just let him go play his game. Trade turnovers for touchdowns. Shift the focus from winning the game to just scoring a touchdown. Maybe that'll slow PT down a lil bit and recruits will get to have some fun at the games. And hell if the defense can hold vandy and Kentucky to 21 points maybe we can win.

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think changing QBs isn’t going to make a difference. Just because someone doesn’t think Hank Brown will be better doesn’t mean that they think that Thorne doesn’t suck. Personally, I don’t think anyone will gain anything from switching at this point. A young QB will not get any better in this offense right now.

Players can’t have it both ways. If you want to simultaneously get paid and be able to transfer with no penalty, you can take the bare minimum responsibility for your play. Because truthfully the coaches can’t “motivate” you like in the good ole days.
