Hugh needs a competent OC because he absolutely sucks.
Nobody worth a damn wants to take a job at a program that fires coaches every 2 years. The fans calling for Freeze to be fired, need to think about that aspect. No HC worth a shite will take this job, and if we throw the checkbook at somebody and get them, then they will have an uphill battle hiring assistants.

I like the idea of re-habing some fired HC. There are some current HCs that will be looking for a job in the very near future.

Baloney. A program that has won a NC recently, and is in the absolute top conference in college football……. many ambitious young motivated and smart coaches would love to have an opportunity like Auburn.

The deeper problem is our poor leadership at the athletic department and board level that will not do serious work searching for a good up and coming coach.

Anybody worth a damn, will have multiple offers. Do you really think a good coach is going to consider a championship won over a decade ago, to be more important than the current stability of a program?

We had a disaster of a university president come in and give Gus a new contract with a massive buyout only to fire him two years later along with the AD. Then he went and hired an AD that had was way over his head, with no ties to the South, AND come out of freaking Buffalo!..That guy gave us Harsin.

When Freeze was hired, there was a very large contingent of fans that wanted Deion Sanders. When pointed out the fact that he had zero P5 coaching experience, the retort that was most widely given was that he would bring in top classes. Has he done that at Colorado? Has Freeze?
