We have 73 scholarship player left? How many are required to play a game? Is there a minimum?

Is this normal? Good roster management?

Didn’t Tubs ban these clowns from the sidelines at one point?

I remember watching a game where Jimmy Rane actually approached Tubs during a game and gave him an arse chewing on the sidelines. I had never seen anything like it.

I heard 78 recently. It might be that low, I don’t know. 73 doesn’t even do justice to the numbers though considering we have quite a bit of super seniors on scholly
and players with less than two players of eligibility left. 2024 could be downright awful.

Something to consider for you “let him do it his way” folks that defend him while he is on vacation with no OC

He probably said “stop letting Roderick Hood field the punts!”

Was kinda what I was insinuating. Good thing it's just football and players rarely go down for significant periods of time

2024? Hell, the next two years will be rough enough.

Just glad we were selective on NSD and only got guys that fit the plan I guess

I’ve got, including guys enrolling this summer, 77. But that includes Sean Jackson (not confirmed he’s on scholly) and Tre Donaldson. Not sure Tre ever plays football and he wasn’t announced by Harsin as a signee I think.

So maybe 75?

Usually we’re having to do weird things to get under the 85 limit

With our current roster and some transfers at WR we can maybe get 7 wins but past that OUR ROSTER IS IN A HOLE. Look at the roster.

At least it's no cause for concern

Daily reminder that thus far no facts about the situation have been released. Still mostly speculation and rumor narratives. I dislike it most for the University as a whole and these players having to go through this.

With the 50 threads don't know if this story was posted, from October...

Portion :
What’s Wrong with the Broncos?

Truth be told, this type of season has been coming for a while now. Boise State is depleted in the trenches on both sides. The defensive line is thin at skill and experience, and the offensive line has been a bugaboo for four or five years now. And don’t even get me started on the linebackers. Outside of the receivers, the defensive secondary, and sometimes the running backs, BSU no longer has the most talent in the Mountain West.

Why? It boils down largely to former head coach Bryan Harsin. Don’t get me wrong, the current coaching staff is to blame for the game day hiccups and lack of attention to details, but the lack of talent at the two most important position groups on a team can be directly traced back to Harsin and his staff.

For years we have heard rumors that he is a jerk and difficult to work for. The revolving door of assistant coaches who have worked for him, the emails obtained through FOIA requests, and the comments from former coaches all confirm this point. The way he treats the media is confirmation enough.

I am convinced Harsin is a-hole Gus. Other than personality, they are the same. Tired, crappy offense. Can't hire good coaches. Can't recruit to needs and have steadily declining roster talent.
When I watched the inept offense last year, all I could think was, what is different?

The Boise article continues:

quote:

When you can’t keep coaches on the staff because you are miserable to work under, you have to keep hiring new coaches. And when word gets out that you’re not a nice person, people don’t want to apply for your job opening. And when the applicant pool is shallow, you end up with guys like Brad Bedell, Winston Venable, and Eric Kiesau on staff.

Looks like Greene did a poor job of vetting. It blows my mind how you don't talk to every former assistant when looking to hire a man to a job where he will have an $18 million buyout.

I've generally supported ADAG but man it does appear he really screwed up the Harsin hire. Ultimately, as much as it pains us to admit it we need the PTB's to be successful. He could have made a home run hire and survived them being ignored but he certainly couldn't have made such a mistake.

Ultimately the fact that the school is investigating tells me this isn't directly a result of the PTB, but I do believe they are fanning the flames since Harsin tied his own noose.

What a total fricking shitshow. Think I'll be hunting and fishing all next season. Take a little football break.

Powers That Be. Shadowy, nebulous group of people who control AU football that no one can really identify.
