Mutual interest between AU and Kirby. Interviewed yesterday but does not have an offer on the table.
Smart felt like he did a good job during the interview.
Regarding Petrino basically said what was already stated in the previous thread "Update on Petrino"
JGT thinks Gus is one of the best offensive minds in college football. Thinks he is a really good candidate. Popular figure inside administration and liked by the players on the roster.
Regarding personalities on committee, thinks it will be hard to come to a consensus. Thinks there will be discord in this group. Spoke about Mac Crawford looking at this from a business perspective and will push hard for who he thinks will do the best job.
Considers it unlikely that a coach will come out of left field this late in the process. Patterson is the only person outside of Smart, Gus, and Petrino that has a shot. Patterson has not interviewed.
Pat Dye's influence on KS selection, Dye had definitely supported him. Regardless of what he has said in public. Dye's influence is overestimated by most of the general public believe.
JGT thinks that Smart, Gus, and Petrino are all good options. Still feels a decision will be late today and an announcement will be made tomorrow and get the ball rolling.

You'll have to holler at RockyMtn when you move. He lives in Colorado.

in all seriousness, I hope this is what is happening. i don't think Malzahn is the answer, and patterson isn't coming... Smart will recruit the living hell outta GA, bring some toughness back to the team, and potentially take a chunk out of the system that' rolling in tuscaloosa.
