JIMBO Rants about BCS -- (one reason why I think he comes to Auburn)
----------
- Less than 24 hours after his one-loss Florida State football team was ranked No. 10 in the latest BCS standings, Jimbo Fisher didn't mince words at his weekly press conference when asked about the system that yearly determines the participants for college football's five premier bowl games.
"I think it stinks. I think the BCS and how we go with all these computers and all this stuff, I think we're ruining it," Fisher said. "I'm going to tell you what, the [impending] playoff which we have right now ain't going to solve it either. What's the playoff going to solve? I mean you've still got the same situation. They've got to change how we pick the top teams in this country.
"You've got to change it; it's not working."
Fisher's irritation with the system stems not just from the fact that his Seminoles are ranked behind three two-loss SEC teams (LSU, Texas A&M and South Carolina) in the BCS standings but in the formula that is used to determine them.

Screw this. Just screw it all. Bringing Jacobs back? Are you frickin' kidding me? He hired Jeff Lebo, who NEVER got us to the NCAA tourney. He hired Nell Fortner, who didn't do anything with the women's bball team outside of one year and was eventually fired. He hired John Pawlowski, who, like Fortner, hasn't done crap with the baseball program outside of one good year where he had a TON of talent recruited by the previous coaching staff. And on top of all that, he hired a football coach that will turn out to be one of the worst coaches in a program's history! In the biggest money-making sport at our school! Give me a frickin' break.
This is ludicrous. Absolute lunacy. I'm a 2011 AU grad, and I was thinking about donating to the university pretty soon. If JJ and TJ are back, they won't get one frickin' cent of my hard-earned money. Pres. Gogue better think twice before bringing back a bunch of clowns that may end up costing him his job when it's all said and done.
Rant over. I'm out.

LOL
I would be fine with JJ as long as he pulls a Mal Moore and saves his arse with this hire. I think the Tony Barbee hire will turn out to be a good one.

I would be so disappointed with Malzahn, it sounds like he could be #2 behind fisher

I don't see Malzahn... I don't he and his family won't it, to be honest.
Jimbo Fisher and Jim Leavitt.... after that, I have no clue.

Leavitt would be a good hire imo, can't believe no one has hired him yet. that 49ers defense has been pretty nasty.

I like Leavitt too, good tough coach won't coddle players.

didn't he like get in a fist fight with a player or something?
or am I thinking of something else?

Yea from wikipedia
On January 8, 2010, Leavitt was fired after an investigation by USF officials found that he had struck a player in the locker room during halftime of a game against Louisville the previous November 21. Leavitt claimed he was merely trying to console the player and never struck him. School officials found that Leavitt was not truthful about what happened, and also found that he had interfered with the investigation.[7] ESPN's Ivan Maisel reported that Leavitt's interference, which included telling several players and coaches to change their stories, was the biggest factor in the decision to fire him.[8] The Tampa Tribune reported that school president Judy Genshaft and athletic director Doug Woolard felt they had no choice but to fire Leavitt after he refused to admit he had done anything wrong

If I'm not mistaken Leavitt was once offered the bammer job and turned it down. Has ties to bammer.

Don't see that being very likely. He's a great coach, obviously but he's got in made at Oregon. Honestly, though, I wouldn't want my team to look like his. I want old school Auburn football.

You are assuming...?
Also, saw a thread on the CC board about Rob Ryan... Could this have been the NFL interest that some referred to?

If you can get Chip Kelly, you get Chip Kelly. Won't happen, though.

Yeah, who would want Oregon's success?

You think Oregon's success would be nearly as sustainable in the SEC, week in and week out? I'd say that's debatable.

Obviously if he were interested we would grab him in a second.
