Truth. People really don't realize just how tenuous things are right now. There's a cap on how much healthcare we can effectively provide. Only so many beds, only so many nurses, only so many ventilators.

Well over 600,000 non-vaccinated folks have died. Under 200 vaccinated folks have died (most had previously existing conditions). So based on percentages, I would recommend the vaccine. However everyone’s risks are different and they need to make up their own mind.

I fear only God. Unfortunately, many of us are failing the love your neighbor as yourself test currently being administered.
Just for informational purposes we have a local hospital that was down to 4 COVID patients on July 1 no ICU's. They are in the 160's now with the ICU's full and they are borrowing vents from states with higher vaccine rates and lower case numbers. The care for all patients is unfortunately suffering, a 26 bed CVICU has been converted to COVID and heart patients are being recovered on a rehab floor. Like the rest of the country the unvaccinated make up 86% of the patients and 98% of the ICU's. #FearPornFacts

Are you acknowledging they slow the spread of respiratory viruses? I realized you stated “prevent” but as you are aware that perspective is being used to minimize the help mask do offer.
I realize you and many others choose to ignore simple facts. The ones I listed I can confirm and know them to be correct. I only provide the info I share in threads like this for the possibility that someone unsure or confused might see actual info alongside much of the misinformation stated in a forum like this…
What value would a hospital have in saying their vents are used up? For those who experience severe COVID they are a nightmare on hospitals and how they make money.
The heart unit I mentioned. The hospital would prefer to have 14 of those 26 beds used on heart patients where the surgery, recovery lead to heading home in just a few days. Get the big pay day, expend minimal amounts of your most expensive resource (healthcare professionals) and get another heart in the same day to make that money again. Covid is long and drawn out once it becomes an ICU issue where the value is superseded by the large expenditure of the hospitals most expensive resource (healthcare professionals).
