It appears they were sitting on their hands but not anymore. Problem seems to be NCAA doing the same song and dance as Purifoy's "freshman year"

Either declare him ineligible or play him
So the way it works is that Auburn declared him "ineligible" then reapply for reinstatement from NCAA. Supposedly we did our part and waiting on NCAA
The problem I'm guessing for NCAA is that once they clear someone, it sets precedent. To be honest, NCAA best case is all the involved players immediately go pro and they don't have to make a controversial decision for any team/player

Was he ever ruled ineligible? If not, why not play him until the NCAA makes a call.
I havent seen the first thing from the NCAA

NCAA doesn't work like that. They put the onus on the school to make the determination first, conduct an investigation, and then apply for reinstatement from the NCAA.
AU could play both right now, but they risk significant sanctions by doing so.

This. A schools compliance office is supposed to investigate and make judgment The NCAA then accepts/rejects investigation/punishment. Compliance departments are the police/justice system and NCAA is internal affairs to make sure they are honest.
When it comes to eligibility though, NCAA can reinstate lost eligibility. It's basically like being a born again virgin. It's complete bullshite but if everyone believes it then it works

I am not as upset about our shite attendance. UNC has a conf game vs Wake and lots of empty seats
Also it's amazing that for big brand teams their games have no small time fouls called. So much better to watch

UConn is also playing Wichita St close 21-20 at half

UConn looks completely lost on offense. Embarrassing. Kevin Ollie needed to be fired yesterday. Would have great had they slipped up and won though.

He is what happens when you keep a Gene Chizik champion around just because he has hardware
Ollie though was a loved PG at UConn right when Calhoun started being dominant so firing him is a little harder

UConn has almost always won w defense even in Calhoun era
Their offense is basically hero ball from a guard / post combo

Fun fact, Bryce Brown has improved 3FG% in SEC conference play both FR/SO years

Potential to be our best player*
I have been driving the Bryce Bandwagon but even I know he is far from it. His consistency is a huge obstacle + he has problem driving and doing both maintaining ball control + good shot
He needs to eliminate these bullshite mid-range 2s, work on finishing at the rim

No he's our best player production wise.

I love Bryce, but he isn’t our best producer or player. He’s good, but Gene pointed out his major holes. The 3 consistency is the biggest thing to me. If he gets in a drought it spirale for a while. If he can get to where he works out of them more quickly he’ll be much improved.

You could make a case for Harper, Heron, or Brown as the best player. They are all flawed, but also all have their strengths. I'd lean Brown right now as the best player, but I'd rather the ball in Harper or Heron's hands with the game on the line.

Not really. He definitely is close but he isn't clear cut if he even is
In terms of raw per game production Heron 15.6ppg 5.7rpg > Brown 15.5ppg 2.4apg despite Brown avg more minutes
In terms of KenPom O Rating (efficiency)
1- Okeke
2- Harper
3- McElmore
I'd say Brown and Murray probably have played the best in terms of O/D + game impact though

Pearl not sounding very hopeful for a Wiley or Purifoy return.

Just that the team is playing well without them.
