0-2 seems probable on those two. We’ll see.

On Okoro — He sure looks like a lottery pick to me. Going to suck losing him but adding to NBA rosters, especially via early picks, will help open up some doors that may still be closed for us.

He very well could be a lottery pick. His defensive skills and passing skills are great. His offensive game will continue to evolve.

From yesterday:

Auburn senior Anfernee McLemore welcomed his son, Maverick, into the world today.

Auburn AD Allen Greene had McLemore flown from Mobile to Columbus after the game last night to be there in time.

Is that not an impermissible benefit?

Maybe it’s considered a medical expense or a family emergency expense?

In Greene I Trust

*eta: Didn't he start in compliance at ND?

I genuinely have no clue how that stuff works, so maybe?

I assume Auburn is free to transport their players however they see fit

Exactly. That’s no different than Auburn’s football team flying to Baton Rouge while Troy’s football team resorts to driving.

Auburn has the right to transport their players individually or as a team however they please to and from sporting events

Gotcha, so what is to stop us from providing free travel for players to take vacations every year? And why would that not be a huge recruiting tool?

It was a specific flight from an away game... in fact, it wouldn’t surprise me if McLemore was responsible for his own way back to Auburn.

Random question. Why do we have a 3 year running basketball thread instead of a new thread for each season? Seems like the latter would be the better & more logical way to go.

Unless they plan to play in a game while on vacation, it’s an impermissible benefit.

It’s pretty cut and dry

I was under the impression that these were USA announcers. Yikes if not.
They are. For the most part All ESPN online only streamed content uses home team announcers.

Nope. It's from within the AD. Impermissible benefits happen when the sources are not in the AD or the athlete is a recruit & not a player yet making such help from the AD impermissible.

They do. It's called mission trips.
