Our scrimmage vs GT was today. This is all I've seen so far.

Details will leak but let’s just say we played well and they are thrilled to go back to Atl.

Me and the wife are heading down on Friday for the game and staying Saturday to tailgate for aTm. Way more excited about the exhibition game

Before everybody melts, we could definitely lose to Lincoln Memorial on Friday. They are a D2 powerhouse and we are obviously a little undermanned right now.

Edit: Looks like they did lose 4 of their 5 top scorers.. but a lot of times the culture of these D2 programs can overcome that kind of turnover with ease. Basically, we should win, but definitely can't sleepwalk and will have to defend the perimeter well.

Yeah, I might do it for a little while. No way I’m doing it for the whole game. GC, weren’t you the one who did it before? If I remember correctly, you had a blast doing the entire game

I've done it for the past few non televised exhibitions. I don't believe I will be able to make this or many other games this year though

Speaking of melts, Bama got taken to the woodshed by JSU. It happens in these type games. One team is flat and the other is playing their super bowl.

Auburn fans need to be prepared that an 0-2 start isn't out of the question. South Alabama returns their 4 best players + should have a huge coaching upgrade in Richie Riley

Normally, AU would still steamroll USA, but I have serious questions about 3 of our 7 available players

McLemore - Is he 100% mentally/physically? He is only 8 months removed from breaking his leg

McCormick - Can we rely on him for 15-20min?

Dunbar - Can we rely on him in general?

I was told he looked really good against GT. He got about 15 minutes in the scrimmage.

Hope so, I just worry how Harper/McCormick will fare sharing court together. Combo of undersized + one out of position

Would be nice, but he wasn't near ready to be a contributor. Realistically, he'd only be 5 fouls + emergency option

Also, based on MCT + others, walk on walk-on Myles Parker may actually fill that role of deep rotation/emergency option

Sure, but still, absolutely shouldn't happen. They were very bad last year.

From what I've seen, pretty dang close. His shot is improved once again too. The dude works hard on it.

Yes. He's not the perimeter defender Davion was but he's not far off. He's better than Davion offensively. More skilled, at least. We just need him to play smart and be more of a distributor than he is used to being.

Eh. Gotta take the good with the bad. Lol. I know what you mean though, as he is going to see an increased role here early. I'm a little scared too.

I am a huge Dunbar fan. I like what he contributes as a rotational spark plug who can change the momentum of any game just by his dunking/energy or unexpected 3FG streakiness

I just don't know how he'll fair with a more feature role

Dunbar has reportedly had a very nice preseason so I'm cautiously optimistic about him. Also don't forget about Myles Parker. He has decent size and athleticism and is a pretty tough hard-nosed kid.

Can we get the official season thread started her soon?!

Also, we need more basketball discussion. The season is pretty much 2 days away and we have the highest preseason ranking since 1999.

To start, I'll ask how many points will we score Friday night and who do you think will be our leading scorer?

I think Bryce leads us in scoring around 27 or so and we put up 80+.
