I was going for Bruce Pearl Arena

Hard for Leath to fire Bruce if the arena is named after him

Meanwhile at Alabama:
Corey Evans
Corey Evans
@coreyevans_10
Star packed group for Alabama today as they host five star junior Trendon Watford along with four stars BJ Boston, Kira Lewis & Kobe Brown.

This investigation fricking blows.

Those guys being at the Alabama game have nothing to do with Auburn's investigation. It has a ton to do with a #12 OU being in town.

We're sitting at 18-2 yet you're worried about Alabama's recruiting?

Watford and I think Kira Lewis are Alabama fans anyways. I don't think we were really in it for either pre investigation

Let’s not try to be shortsighted here. Bama is moving forward with their program, ours is in a holding pattern as we don’t even know if Pearl will be our coach next year. Yes I’m very worried about our future and the fact that we are not able to sell this successful season to our recruits right now.

Pearl has to do more to make in roads into North Alabama basketball. A lot of talent (relatively speaking) coming out of the area. Auburn doesn't even seem to be in it for most of these kids. Watford and Lewis are going to be good.

Meh. Atlanta is closer and thus makes more sense, and is traditionally a much better area for basketball anyways.

Frankly, I don't care if he recruits in Alaska if we are gonna win like this.

Atlanta should always be our default recruiting priority. I just think we need to make more of an effort for some of these top in state guys. We have big time players coming out of our state that Auburn isn't even a legit consideration.

Langford, Petty, Watford, etc., etc., etc.

AU was never a real consideration. I played with one of his hs assistant coaches and have been told this.

Until Auburn basketball is consistently good it won’t matter. These guys want to go to the NBA. They think Avery can get them there more than Pearl at the moment. Until we’re winning more consistently and putting out more NBA talent it won’t change much.

Ever since the Komara situation, Auburn has had extremely limited recruiting of top North Alabama recruits.

I just don't see these kids like Petty/Watford, who grew up Bama fans and have UK type offers ever choosing Auburn. Not like AU has that "home draw" 4 hours away while Lexington is 4-5 hours away

Probably. I watch several of these guys in high school and would love to be able to follow them and cheer them on at AU. Probably just my perspective.

I get the home bias. Realistically though, so long as we’re recruiting at a high level it doesn’t matter where they come from so long as they fit in the system and we can develop them.
