Wake me up when Freeze wins a meaningful game.

Gus was better. This is fact.

And the silly, careless, stupid mistakes that we made. 4 interceptions, 1 fumble, 6 penalties in critical moments. And from veterans who should know better.

Don't forget the dropped pic that hit the defender in the stomach that we should have returned for 6.....

1 running out of bounds when we should have picked up the first down.

1 drive stalled on a fumble spike.

1 QB that looked like Peyton Manning in the first half while driving against us.

Our PR dropping the punt but at least he landed on it.

The ingredients were all there to go along with the above post.

I would personally love to know our win-loss record when we commit mutliple turnovers and lay one punt on the ground. The few games I remember we are 0-for.

Our DC thinking it was a good idea to only bring 3 for most of the first half, giving the opposing QB time to take a nap in the pocket.

I cant figure out why he had to wait until the half to change that.

I don't remember only bringing 3 many times at all but we did get more aggressive in the 2nd.

I don't see the dominant spread offenses anymore,

Every top program with the exception of UGA, Michigan and Ohio State are running spread offenses. And even they have lots of "spread" elements in their "pro style" offenses. The "in" thing right now is the RPO, which everyone is running, that just builds off the "spread". Even the best offense in the NFL is a "spread" offense. Nobody is going out there and getting in the I and running power lead and play action. It's all "spread". The college game has a few coaches that incorporate the QB run more than others in their spread offense (which was a hallmark of Urban, Gus, and Freeze). Now you can debate the effectiveness of that vs the QB being purely a passer and only running to keep the defense honest, but that's another topic.

The thing Gus was known for was the HUNH Spread Offense. Meaning, he got his personnel geouping matchup that he liked and made it almost impossible for the defense to substitute. Saban bitched about "player safety" and that was that. Advantage gone...

Kiffin, Sark, Riley, hell...even Saban transitioned to it the last half of his tenure at Bama went to a spread offense. Freeze's offensive concepts do not differ from those top programs enough to suck as bad as it does. The execution is just garbage. The vast majority of that falls on the QB Hugh has rode. And I understand any criticism of that decision. But everyone is pretty much working off the same philosophy on offense in college football these days. Some have better players and some are just better overall.

Malzahn almost always beat bad OOC teams, even if it wasn’t pretty he found a way to get the W.

Not a skill Freeze has, going back to Ole Miss.
