Oh okay. Marcello is in Utah though. I think that part is also from Caldwell.

Marcello: Another note to add: Boobee Whitlow was the best running back and Joey Gatewood was the best quarterback on the field Friday.

Marcello: One more thing to add to Jason's great report before I head to bed: Auburn's cornerbacks have had a heck of a first week and are proving to be a strength of the team right now.

From Justin Ferguson at The Athletic:
quote:

Auburn’s QB competition is (officially) an even, four-man race, but a pecking order seems to be emerging

quote:

In early zone-read drills, redshirt freshman Joey Gatewood and true freshman Bo Nix rotated with top running backs JaTarvious Whitlow and Kam Martin. In pass protection drills a few minutes later, Gatewood and Nix took turns behind the first-team, all-senior offensive line.

On Gatewood:
quote:

“You can really tell like he’s stepping into the role of becoming a potential, big-time player,” receiver Seth Williams said Tuesday. “You can see that in all of them, but from Joey last year to Joey this year, you can see his confidence has improved a lot. … He’s accurate. He’s got a big-time arm, too.”

On Nix:
quote:

“Smart guy, on and off the field,” Williams said. “Yeah, he’s smart. Can’t say that much (about the competition), but you can see it. He can make throws. He’s a freshman, but you can see he’s got the potential to be great. He’s above any other freshman quarterback you see coming in. You’ll see them struggling in some areas, but he’s ahead in those areas like that.”

Oline:
quote:

“(Offensive line coach J.B. Grimes) will tell you we’re a world ahead of where we were at this time last year,” Kim said Tuesday. “We’re all feeling pretty good about it. We have a lot of chemistry going between all five of us. We all feel like we’re making some really good strides.”

Give me Whitlow DJ and Then KAM.

I hope Gus don't screw up DJ like he did Barrett, Roc, and Asa
