Here is what austudent22 posted on the ITAT about Harris Gaston.

Decided to give up football at Auburn in 2011, stayed in school on his own dime, decided to return to football for his last year of eligibility in 2013.
Meh, still not a good linebacker.

Whatever happened to him transferring to Alabama and walking on? The thought of that seemed fishy at the time but I just went with it.

Yeahhh, that's pretty obvious when the coaching staff signs a juco guy that's a perfect match for the "new" offense. Maybe it will make the other guys work harder though.

Taking this with a grain of salt and scares the shite out of me but it was the first time I ever heard a player refer to someone as Gus' "Next Cam Newton" and later said he is a fast Cam Newton. Guys I talk with sometimes will praise other players way more than they should and talk them up but not compare especially to someone like Cam

I want Jonathan Wallace to start.

That being said, I think Nick Marshall will be legit.

I think he'll complete 50% of his passes, throw a few more TDs than ints, and baffle the hell out of defenses with his quicks and speed on running plays.

I think he'll be enough to get us 7-8 wins.

It's been bugging me, looking at his hudl highlight package, who he reminds me of -- it's Tyrod Taylor. If that comparison were to materialize, with the weapons he's got around him, then, yeah, I think he'll do well in Gus's system, and we'll win some games.

He was way to slow to be a 4-3 LB but he won't be asked to cover as much ground in the 4-2-5 so maybe he can provide some solid depth.

We will win more games with Nick Marshall at quarterback. He isn't going to break any records throwing the ball, and his decision making ability is something that Gus will have to take into consideration when designing this year's offense, but his athletic ability gives us a chance to beat teams that we otherwise wouldn't have a shot against with Wallace or Frazier at QB.

There's nothing wrong with his decision making ability. This is getting super old. His defense was one of the worst defenses ever fielded. They gave up basketball points every game to community colleges. And I don't mean 40-50 points. I'm talking 60-80. You have to throw to win those games.

You guys are going to have to move off the 1:1 TD/INT ratio. Analyze the entire situation.

I'm aware of that, but I still think it's a steep learning curve learning to make reads against an SEC defense for a guy that is going to have a very short time to learn the offense.

I averaged it out and their defense gave up an average of roughly 39 points per game. They were terrible.

Everyone faces that same curve. I'm not trying to pick on you here, sorry. I'm just at the point of irritation. I don't know if he'll be any good or not or if he will even start and I don't care either way I'm just sick of that stat being regurgitated.

I would say the exact same thing if he were a freshman that was just coming in. You have to change your offense to make the mental aspect easier on a new QB.

Just clarify what part you are talking about.

"Gus will need to change/tailor his offense to Nick Marshall due to his inexperience at QB in the SEC and with the offensive schemes employed by Gus"

is a valid argument

Seems like Jones is getting irritated with

"Nick Marshall threw(insert x amount of interceptions or y ratio of TD:INT) and clearly his throwing ability and decision making is a concern. Gus will need to tailor his offense to such a loose cannon who doesn't make decisions when to fire well"

I just now noticed that Craig Sanders cut down from 257lbs to 242lbs.

Anyone think a move to LB could happen for him?

Been wanting this to happen since he stepped on campus. He has the size and speed I don't know why it never happened.

Rodney Garner is a boss. Hoke:

Practice observation from today: Rodney Garner yells, a lot. All the time.

Signees Carl Lawson and Elijah Daniel were at practice today, following the DL around and watching intently.

Prattville (Ala.) RB commit Kamryn Pettway was at practice also.
