Agree. But in all honesty, its one of the prettiest places Ive found outside of the Caribbean. The water there is unreal clean and awesome.
We anchor there a good bit and enjoy the day. We have done about 10 different places from Clearwater down to Lido key. Its by far the best place
We did Beer Can Island back in Tampa bay last week. Tons of people but the water sucks there. I prefer the places near AMI

No doubt, it’s the kid’s favorite place by far for diving for sand dollars. Back side of island in shallows
I thought beer can island was on the northern point of long boat key and southern point of Anna Maria at bridge
I like Bunces Pass also. Cool place and never overly crowded

You guys are sparking some new thoughts. I have always thought I would downsize to Carova Beach NC. Carova is wild and rough but beautiful. You need a real 4x4 to get to your house. But my memories of the beautiful white sand of the gulf has me wondering what might work there. Thanks for the photos and discussion of options

It is. There are actually 3 of them. Another up in Clearwater. Popular name.
The one I went to is about 20miles east of the skyway..

Taking son to airport so he can head to the Naval Academy for a summer seminar for those who want to get an appointment to the academy. It’s like a prerequisite.

Beach next two mornings if I can help it. Busy season ends for me in July so I’m full time weekend warrior until then. Zero complaints, though

Kidding- that's awesome, any appointment to an academy is great.

Been drinking Busch Light since the boycott and realized its not much different in taste than Bud Light. Only much cheaper.
