Nice video...Yeah the tide has been bad lately. I had a hard time riding the bike down the island until I got down into Longboat key.

We are riding tomorrow so will see how it is going.
I need to get down to see your workshop. Sounds pretty interesting.

Weather guy says the winds are about to swing out of the east soon and that will help move it out of our area... Looking forward to that. I went down to Tide Tables to have lunch Wednesday and just got back in my truck when I got in the parking lot

Totally understand that. When they let the stuff out of Okeechobee a few years ago and it got us really bad, we could actually smell it at our house as all canals were full of it.

What is it?

I was thinking about "springing" from Feb through March in the Naples through St Pete area to avoid the pollen of 20,000 square miles of Mississippi forest here in Mobile.

What do you guys think of that?

Sounds like fun.

Red tide, a toxic algae bloom that occurs naturally in the Gulf of Mexico, is worsened by the presence of nutrients such as nitrogen in the water.

Here is a map of the noted Red Tide LINK
We rode the island today and only noticed in one spot otherwise it was fine.

You need to be careful, you may not want to leave

Yesterday was a "Florida day" for me. Went fishing in the Bay, sunny and 82deg, stopped at a great bar in St Pete and had lunch and some drinks on the boat. Came home, jumped in pool then cooked some steaks on the grill

My wife and I have coined "Florida day" as a day that we spend here that cements the reality that we will never live any where else.

Been in those waters myself many times. Is there not a "no wake" zone through there? You flying through there.

That is the actual channel running through there. Runs close to Those docks. Looks weird but it is what it is. The rest of that area is 1.5 feet deep.

Packing up for a weekend canoeing and camping on the Flint River. It's our 13th year and this weekend we will pass 200 river miles completed.

Last time we were on the river for the March Madness was when we started our run in 2019. We watched the UNC game on the river bank. We'll be watching HOU game the same way. Maybe we can channel the same luck. The down side is we have a couple of gumps and mutts with us. Saturday sure would be sweet with a AU W and a gump L.

This weekend night be challenging.

Did Sauty yesterday when it was warm. Sat and Sun might be a bit more memorable weather wise. Have fun.

Is the river high? Lots of rain in the past week. Fished the Flint when I grew up in middle Georgia.

Shoal bass, cats, and everything else.
