Yep. Only been once. Really enjoyed the stop in Marathon and wish we had stayed longer there. Loved the accommodations in KW. But some of the Duval street crowd came close to bringing out the redneck side of me.

. . . and we have way too much.

IE: we doing a canoe and kayak race today and the extra feet of water is going to separate the men from the boys and girls. Should make for good video and tall tales so it's all good.

So envious, Lanier. I haven't been to the keys since a spring break trip while I was at Auburn, LOL.

my dad called it Ling...do people still call it that?

I've heard Ling, Lemon fish, and Cobia. Seems Cobia has definitely taken over as the name from 30 years ago.

he was from Troy / Montgomery, AL, and I grew up in Mobile and we fished the bay and the Gulf when I was younger. I still try to saltwater fish but it's probably once a year at this point, if I'm lucky.

Pensacola area is definitely cobia, except for the pier rats. They've gotta be different I guess so they all say ling.

they are beautiful fish and good eating - they look like sharks when they are on top of the water but they don't cut the line as much as sharks do. they seem to hang under debris on the the top of the water to get the shade and once you find that, they are pretty easy to hook up.

Here’s the scientific name for Cobia, Lemon fish, Ling

I will stick with Cobia because that is how I was introduced to it while fishing. It’s a cooler name too.

I’ve rarely been up at 2am and thought it was worth it, so goodonya for having a good time. In the last 2 years I’ve become the very thing I’ve made most fun of

But I’ve never regretted getting into bed early

I did get into the Atlantic today. It was petty fricking cold but I swam a bit up and floated back.

Amen to that.

9pm - 4am is the sleep schedule that seems to fit me best.

Just trying to crank down on my usage of the Rant - I only frequent here, the OT and the MSB. Gotta conserve my trolling for footbaw season

Not much else to talk about right now.
