So only five seniors are taking advantage of the "covid year" pass to come back?
Is this the same for other programs?

Typically by the end of year 4 you have a degree and know whether or not you’re headed to the NFL or the work world. Little upside in staying another year unless you just love playing football.

Long way of saying, I could see why many wouldn’t want to stay an extra year with a new head coach coming off a 6-4 season.

We had 13 scholarship seniors. 5 coming back is a lot when you look at them individually

5 staying (Loy, Truesdell, Leonard, Wooten, Moultry)
2 transferred (Big Kat, Newkirk)
3 will try NFL (Peters, Britt, Stove

Other 3: Prince Sammons, Bill Taylor, Malcolm Askew

Nevermind I see my question was answered in the other thread.

Having Truesdell come back is big for depth.

... not sure I'd call him that.

In reference to Steele:

Your leadership and guidance has gotten me to where I am today! Blessed with the opportunity to play on the same field with you again @shelton_felton ! Once my coach, always my coach ?? #COMMITED @DansleyAnsley @CoachJPruitt pic.twitter.com/DUi8lLtSW6

He committed to his HS coach, one of the assistants who was fired with cause. I don't even think Steele had been hired when he committed.

Why? Let Tennessee waste a scholarship on him. Good riddance to Bust Kat Bryant.

could be - was just parroting the article
quote:

Big Kat Bryant announced Saturday evening that he committed to play for the Vols and head coach Jeremy Pruitt, following his former defensive coordinator Kevin Steele who the program hired this week.

I could see him wanting the security aspect; however senior leadership skills aside it's seems wasteful to toss aside a second chance to excel.

...and because 4 years of KS hadn't extracted what was expected.
