Lanier there isn’t 5. Only coach that might be available at some point possibly would be Cristobal. And only because of his recruiting ability. However I think he’s Sabans replacement

Y’all remember when Lincoln Riley was the QB whisperer? Can we start the same about him that has been said about Gus... can’t develop QBs? Only transfers. Rattler looked JJ6ish last weekend.

Forget about Smart, let's talk the UGA faithful. While always annoying, they used to be good at trash talking. What the hell happened?

He played Gus last year brining in a Heisman cadidate at QB and what was one of if not the best offensive line in football against a terrible offense line and a freshman Quarterback who had never played a single game in college.

Lost

Then he lost to 6-5 Arizona state. Could you imagine the melt if that were Gus.

WE have heard so much about these up and coming coaches and not many of them have produced. Scott Frost, Tom Herman, Gut at Virginia Tech, etc.

I think Lincoln is good with QBs and with offense in general. But his defenses are so bad, he could never bring that style of play here. He would be run out of town in weeks.

Im still waiting for the other guys list.

Someone here really liked ISU’s Matt Campbell a year or two ago. His team got murdered by LA-Lafayette to open the season. They went 7-6 last year

I’ve been saying this about these coaches for several years now. Jeff Brohm is another. M

I looked at an Athlon ranking of top 25 coaches for 2015:

1 Saban
2 Meyer
3 Briles
4 Harbaugh
5 Bill Snyder
6 Dantonio
7 Gary Patterson
8 Bob Stoops
9 Gus
10 Fisher
11 Spurrier
12 Petrino
13 Todd Graham
14 Rich Rod
15 Brian Kelly
16 Richt
17 Gary Pinkel
18 Cutcliffe
19 Mullen
20 Freeze
21 David Shaw
22 James Franklin
23 Chris Peterson
24 Les Miles
25 Butch Jones

Dabo was 38, behind Sumlin and Bielema

This post is not a Gus defense post. I’m indifferent about him as our head coach but we can see from just 5 years ago how easy it is to be wrong in the moment about coaches in CFB

Still from that list (at that time)

Meyer, Briles, Miles, Mullen, and even Richt (for 5)

Could likely equal the same 70 percent. If the metrics is 24/34 in SEC and they're recruiting the same average star rating of player.

If nothing more than just adjusting your game plan to fit the players, being somewhat unpredictable on 1st down, and not recruiting those who'll never fit your system.

(+ if nothing else; by them not letting up on the gas too soon). ... eta: and swap Kiffin with Meyer if you want - he's also fits that period.
