as word got out that we hired Gus over Kirby
Today, a guy on the Bunker who called the Steele hire is saying "Gus to GT" may not just be smoke

I have no hope. Gus got that in his contract.

I'm sure it's wishful thinking, but that would be the ideal situation for everyone concerned.
Even me, as a lifelong Tech fan. I think Gustav would do pretty well in the ACC, certainly no worse than PJ has done.
Win 7-8 games a season and beat UGa once every 4 years or so while running a clean program? Gustav is your man.

I refuse to get my hopes up any more. Channeling my inner Ivan Drago, I just say if he goes, he goes. I won't believe it until it's official.

I'm glad you recovered and are okay
I'm numb to the rumors... They are fun and provide loads of quality entertainment but I don't believe anything anymore! We has no insiderz!

Well I would say with the recent announcement of Urban Meyer leaving OSU, Auburn better do something quick if it's going to get their top choice. But at this point if a coach is good enough to have a shot at OSU, he shouldn't every field calls from our dysfunctional leadrship.

I honestly don’t want another good recruiter in Atlanta. Gus still has a great reputation as being the coach behind Cam Newton, several good years at Auburn, and a good rapport with recruits.
Also, our recruiting class this year would collapse, and who is out there that we really want to hire? Especially now that the Ohio State job is open too. Doesn’t sound like an ideal scenario to me.

I'll believe it when I see it, but wouldn't be the worst move for Gus:
-Atlanta, he and Kristi wouldn't have to move from Auburn
-GT is in the coastal division (no Clemson to deal with like he has to with Bama)
-GT players are triple option players, which are run heavy types that would easily adapt to an RPO style that Gus likes.
-If we miss on Bryant and Tate, does he want to go through a QB rebuild?
-probably questioning whether he wants to continue at AU if he's lost the confidence of the administration and fanbase
I'll believe it when I see it, but Gus has probably put some thought into it.

Incoming press conference about extending Gus's contract and increasing the buyout.

...Gus is now the winningest active HC against Nick Saban's Alabama.
(You could argue he's also the winningest active coach against Saban, period, at any school, since Gus owns the 2010 coordinator tiebreaker over Richt)
Not sure what that's worth, but it's bound to trigger a few people

What's his winning percentage against Dabo? Eddie O? Kirby? Moo State? Bowl games?

I'm not sure what I am more afraid of.
1. Keeping Gus as the HC.
2. A search committee fricking it up again.

I think the bigtime boosters are going to take over this next time. I believe that there was contact with Bob Stoops. They're not playing around.

Gus goes to GT, Steele promoted to HC, Kodi to OC, Brown to DC, McGriff back as DB coach, some grad assistant promoted to WR coach.
Auburn boards explode.

I would leave if I was Gus. He is in a no win situation here. 90% of the fan base is done with him. We have all of our chips in on a backup qb transferring here. We are losing a lot of our players from our defense that kept us somewhat competitive. We are due for a rebuilding year but Gus HAS to win 10 to stay IMO and I just don’t think we will have a 10 win roster next year
