Multiple AU boards are reporting an issue with AD Greene not being renewed for his contract that supposedly ends in Feb 2022. It also has been reported that his name has been linked to multiple other AD job interviews over the recent past. With that what is the real status? Does the contract really end in Feb 2022? Are there issues within the administration? Will we be searching for a new AD in the coming weeks?

Doesn’t February seem like a random end date for an AD’s contract?

I’m not exactly sure to be frank...

Not really considering he was hired in January of 2018. By the time they get contracts finalized everything was probably dated for February.

Unless it was amended, his initial contract runs through January 31, 2023

I guess so. I was thinking any kind of admin would be contracted for a school year or athletic year but I really don't have a clue.

It’s very weird to me how stuff about Greene just gets stirred up every now and then. Seems like someone wants him out and starts saying a bunch of shite to get people going on the subject.

Ok, so that answers the question on contract length!

Seems fair. He’s in his last year of his deal now so the question looms. Hopefully the new president is hired with enough time to make an informed decision on Greene

Michelle McKenna is leaving her post in March with the NFL and I think that may have sparked this new round of speculation

NFL Chief Information Officer Michelle McKenna leaving

LINK

Veteran NFL Chief Information Officer MICHELLE MCKENNA will leave the league March 31, according to a memo obtained by SBJ. McKenna, who was a member of the '14 SBJ Game Changers class, joined as the league’s first CIO in '12 after holding the same title at Constellation Energy and Universal Orlando Resort. Her next destination is unknown.

I did think we were hearing late last year, that what the Board told Greene was that they were not going to renew his contract, and recommended he begin to look elsewhere in 2022.
The Board is now in the middle of a search for President to be on board by May/June of 2022(the dated based on Gogue tell them to find someone by then),
And the board would like after that to begin the process of hiring a new AD. So Greene would only have about 6 months left after Gogue is gone to seriously look for a new place to land.

McKenna, if she is still interested, and fits what the Board/new President wants, would still be available, since she is leaving in March her current job....

There is no question, Auburn is in for a lot of change. New president (hopefully Dean Roberts, COE.) new Provost (Hardgrave went to Memphis to be prez). There is talk that AD is a finalist (Again) for a job, but who knows.
