I agree for most part with what you posted. But I am bored at work so here's an early stab at next year's 2 deep

QB - Jarrett Stidham (rJR) | Malik Willis (SO)
RB - Devan Barrett (SO) | Asa Martin (FR) / Kam Martin (JR)
H-Back - Chandler Cox (SR) | Harold Joiner (FR)
X - Darius Slayton (rJR) | Shedrick Jackson (FR)
Y - Nate Craig-Myers (JR) | Marquis McClain (rSO)
Z - Ryan Davis (SR) | Eli Stove (JR) / Will Hasting (SR)
TE - Jalen Harris (SR) | Sal Cannella (JR)
LT - Prince Tega Wanogho (rJR) | Prince Sammons (rSO)
LG - Marquel Harrell (rJR) | Brodarius Hamm (rFR)
C - Nick Brahms (rFR) | Kaleb Kim (rJR)
RG - Mike Horton (rJR) | Tyler Carr (rJR)
RT - Calvin Ashley (rFR) | Bailey Sharp (rJR)

I am all aboard the Devan Barrett hype train. I think the Martins end up in the rotation but Barrett becomes the bellcow. Would not be surprised to see Whitlow get in the mix as well. The RB battle will be really interesting this year

Really hope Ashley is ready next year. AU seems to be going after a few grad transfer tackles so chance if we land one of them would swap him in for Ashley. Interested to see what happens at center. Harrell could slide to center as well if needed if someone like Hamm emerged as one of AU's top 5 OL.

Buck - TD Moultry (SO) | Paul James (rSR)
DT - Dontavius Russell (rSR) | Andrew Williams (rSR) / Daquan Newkirk (SO)
NG - Derrick Brown (JR) | Tyrone Truesdell (SO)
DE - Marlon Davidson (JR) | Nick Coe (rSO) / Big Kat Bryant (SO)
Money - Darrell Williams (SR) | Montavius Atkinson (SR)
MIKE - Deshaun Davis (rSR) | Richard McBryde (rJR) / KJ Britt (SO)
Nickel - Jordyn Peters (SO) | Jeremiah Dinson (rJR)
BCB - Jamel Dean (rJR) | John Broussard (JR)
FCB - Javaris Davis (rJR) | Traivon Leonard (SO)
FS - Quindarious Monday (FR) | Jordyn Peters (rJR)
SS - Jeremiah Dinson (rJR) | Daniel Thomas (JR) / Jamien Sherwood (FR)

I think James, Truesdell, Bryant & Newkirk all join the regular DL rotation next year. AU actually didn't rotate as many guys as Garner usually likes. In past he says he wants 10 players in rotation. I think has shot of that this year

All of a sudden AU has a ton of linebackers so will be interesting to see how they get them on the field especially with our base defense really being a Nickel look. I think Deshaun, Darrell, Montavius & McBryde are the main guys with Britt possibly sliding in some as well. I am also high on Michael Harris but my guess is he's a year a way from contributing

DB will be interesting. I actually like AU's depth at Nickel & safety in Peters, Dinson, Thomas, Monday & Sherwood. What scares me is CB after Dean & Davis. Both guys have had injuries in the past. We need 2 dudes to step up out there. I liked what I saw from Leonard this year & think he could be one of those guys. Not sold on Broussard but not really sure what else we got back there

Why is everybody so high on Barrett?

Devan Barrett reminds me of Roc Thomas so much (minus the excessive spin moves) that it is hard for me to get on board with him being our every down back. He didn't do much in games to get me excited...

I'm hoping either Asa Martin, a bulked up Kam Martin, Joiner, or Whitlow earn a majority of the carries.

*Shivers also looks scary good

I mean, how could you see much from him running the exact same play every time he was in the game? By the middle of the season, when he came in, he was keyed on and we changed nothing. That being said, he still averaged 5.6 yards per carry on limited touches

I agree on play calling. They swing passed him to death all season.

That 5.6 ypg is good and all, but it was in garbage time.

Barrett just never broke a big, explosive play like Willis did a few times. It would feel like "oh, there he goes!" and then he would get tripped or slip and fall...

Agree with all of that except I have Asa Martin as the starter at RB, if not to start the season def by the end. I also have Noah Iggy behind Slayton instead of Jackson.

I think there's a good chance Matt Hill or Christian Tutt end up at kick/punt return.

I will confess that I have been on the Barrett hype train since he was a junior in high school. I just think his running style is a great fit for AU's system and he reminds me a bit of Tre Mason coming out of high school. Obviously didn't get a chance to do much this past season but with the race wide open I am gonna stick with my guy

I don't see Roc at all in his game. Roc had elite acceleration & was elusive in the open field. Barrett's biggest knock is he lacks top end speed. He might have some of Roc's shiftiness but he was a much more physical runner in high school & less likely to dance around defenders

FWIW none of these guys besides maybe Kam Martin have shown anything in games either. It's all a crapshoot right now. I could really see any of AU's backs winning the job. I just liked Barrett's tape the most coming out of high school so I am picking him to be the guy. If I trusted Gus to rotate I think a 1-2 punch of Barrett & Asa would be awesome with Kam as the change of pace

I would love to see Kam Martin prove everyone wrong (myself included) like KJ did many people this past year that he can be an everydown back. Would give AU a true HR threat at tailback. Excited to see who ends up being the guy next season

Not going to compare him to Roc, when he only got the ball in such a limited way.

He has the speed. He needs to gain weight. But he has the ability to make D miss.

If he can block and grasp the full playbook he plays a lot a t first.

No way can I put Asa Martin there...until he has a whole spring to show what he has learned.

Whitlow..again, since he was injured, he may come out of nowhere, but he will be very raw. And GM doesn't give RBs much chance when they havent practiced a lot in his offense.

K Martin...too light to be 3 down back.
M Martin... so far shows no ability to be THAT back. SHows average ability so far...
