No scholarship and no NIL deal. I’m sure he gets taken care of if he wins the job though

He was good at Southern Miss but doesn’t outright solve our problem, IMO

Are you serious?! Potential.

Oh ok, we’re going off of hypotheticals and high school rankings. In that case, why didn’t they just save money and start Walker next season? He was a top 5, 5* QB also. I’m asking what Arnold has done IN COLLEGE to say he’s going to be a safe bet and upgrade at QB1 next season?

Deshawn Purdue, Charlotte QB, just got offered. #31 QB in the portal. Weird

It's a 4th QB, which is pretty standard for a High Major D1 program...

Take Cal for instance, I watched them last night. Starter didn't play the last game due to injury, Backup got injured in that game. 3rd string got injured last night.. luckily they had a 4th guy.

Never know.

Nobody is arguing that we don’t need 4 QBs. I’m saying we already have Daniels for scout team. We should be bringing in another QB that is talented enough to compete with Arnold for QB1.

I feel you Jville, but Daniels isn’t coming here to be the scout team QB. You know that

He’s gonna be the QB2, and he won’t be here for spring

Arnold is not a safe bet but what option do you have?

The idea that we bring in Arnold and Ewers/Klubnik) is a pipe dream IMO. Ewers/Klubnik are not going to turn down the NFL/Clemson to come compete at Auburn.

We’re bringing in Arnold which seems like the best option out there. Then we’re bringing in a P5 starter with not great stats and a G5 starter with not great stats (theoretically this Charlotte guy)

I just think you’re looking for a QB that some other school is going to offer a lot of money and pretty much guarantee a starting spot. We’re not going to be able to compete with that with Arnold here.

What in THE frick makes you think Daniels left a starting job at a P4 school to come be a scout team QB? Thats walk-on shite.

I will argue that. I say we ride with the three we have, and it seems ludicrous to me that anyone would spend time, effort, or money on a 4th QB.

If we are putting a 4th string QB in a game we are toast. When is the last time a good top 25 team put a 4th string QB in a game and won….I have been watching college football for over 40 years and I cannot recall seeing that ONCE.

We should all be talking about OFFENSIVE LINE. That is a much more critical area of need that we should be spending time and money on.

To be closer to home and get a little more NIL money. He knows he’s not going to the NFL.

The past 2 years, we had a former 4* and former 5* running the scout team.

that really isn't the point. You need a scout team QB. (That's 1) Say your starter goes down. IF you started with three, you now have two QB's. Say another one gets injured, you have one QB.

Three years ago when Freeze beat a 9 win Arkansas team with his 4th string QB, at Arkansas.

The guy you bring in isn’t necessarily your 4th string.

You don’t know how good Arnold is, how good Deuce is, you probably have a pretty good idea how good Daniels is.

Neither of those would have to compete with Arnold. Either one would be QB1 the moment they signed.

Then Arnold wouldn’t have signed up.

So we are THREE deep with good players at all five offensive line positions…..? That would be a ‘No’. We are three deep right now at QB with the players committed.

Also based on some of the O-line breakdowns we had in games this year it would be reasonable to ramp up the portal focus on offensive linemen.

We aren’t 3 deep with good players at QB either.
