Yeah, I laughed at that. Ward would greatly improve the QB room.

Ward would obviously change the QB room, but if I am choosing how to spend the NIL since we are doing moneyball I am spending to create depth everywhere, not just at QB. If our depth is bad every where what will a good QB get you? 8-5? Might as well build the right way.

We have had loaded teams and bad to average QB play, and that also gets you 8-5 seasons.

Until then we are going to be using band aids from North Texas. Lets just get a roster, Ok?

You know our roster NIL budget is $10-12m per year, right?
According to Hoke last night.

And why he thought, like you said, Hugh would be hesitant to spend that on a quarterback with our deficient o'line.

In essence we'd spend so much on the offense that we'd be forced to neglect other needs. And further went, we'd be better to shore up for really good team next year, and try for a contender the following. It'd be better money spent and the money guys would probably bite on that, instead of not seeing results while emptying the bank.

etc: fat fingers and rushing

Do you guys listen to the coach. He doesn’t not think Thorne was the issue with the pass game. He made that clear over and over and over ever post game every pregame presser. That the WRs weren’t getting the job done. He stated it over and over and over.

And since the season has been over he’s made it very clear that Thorne isn’t and wasn’t the issue. But no Cam Ward would not bring anything to AU’s QB room. Experience but Thorne has that. If he’s this difference maker why hasn’t schools like Miami and FSU 2 programs set to make a run next year. Because he wants to much and he’s not that good.

Ward wants 1.2-1.5 for 1 season…. Says if he doesn’t get that he might go pro. He might get drafted 5th or 6th round maybe… big maybe. Probably a UDFA

I’ve never seen a coach bench or pull a player that he thought was doing a good job, but ok.

And you noticed he stopped because Thorne was a better runner than Robby out of the true offensive sets.

Was searching for ways to score points because WRs were loafing and not even running correct routes. Listen to what the coach says not what you want to hear.

Running Robbie out there was one of the worst things Freeze could do. Robbie did well before the half against LSU or Ole Miss, but in the totality of it all the constant switching ruined any chance of QB growth. It also directly led to stalled drives thanks to cold quarterbacks or penalties induced by substitution. It also gives Thorne some cover during those awful games and maybe Thorne doesn't deserve it.

Regardless, two things happened. Things got easier for Thorne once Ole Miss was in the books, and once Ashford was no longer running onto the field.

I did not notice that at all. It’s just that nobody cared if PT ran on them, because he wasn’t going to beat anyone with his legs.

He didn't bench him to get a better passer. He benched him to let Robbie trying a pure running game, only to find out PT could do that, without tipping off we've decided to go one dimensional.

USC (Trojans) 5 star DB Domani Jackson in portal. He ran a 10.25 in the 100 meter which was the fastest (high school) time in Cali history.

Their 5 star freshman QB (Nelson) is also in portal.

Lincoln Riley in shambles.

Usually what happens right before someone gets canned…

Dante Moore to Oregon. Very strange choice, since Gabriel committed there already. I guess they’re not worried about using NIL money on QBs…

Jville you slacking on the portal QBs.

The highest ceiling of all portal QBs hit yesterday. You didn’t even mention him.
