My drivers Ed instructor in high school was an SEC ref. When I was at Auburn I would see him doing our games sometimes. It was weird.

I had an Uber driver that was/is an SEC ref. He was the one that flagged Muschamp on the sideline in the Iron Bowl (if I remember correctly).

Our Secondary
Corners played fine. Safeties were arse. Riddick not living up to his ranking. Completely lost in coverage. Zero adjustments during the game by Durkin. It was the same slant/post route against our weak zone coverage. Reminded me of uga game where they just kept feeding their TE.

Tackling was really bad. Diving at ankles again. 5 and 19 will make bad plays every game. Harris played terrible and looked lost. DEs dropping into coverage was infuriating play calling. I don't mind it occasionally when its disguised as a blitz, but it felt like we dropped them every drive.

That’s what it reminded me of during the game ….. Trigg = Bowers

Baylor is a pretty decent offense. They led the Big12 in pass offense last year. They were dead last in rush offense.

I do agree we had several bad defensive plays Friday night. We can't cover slants very well...

a lot of the bad plays happened because our boys had their eyes on the QB instead of their assignment. Just staring at the Qb while the guy they're suppose to be guarding ran right by them.

We were in zone defense a lot yeah? Isn't their eyes supposed to be on the QB??

I haven't went back and really watched the game closely. I do think they were eating up our zone with the safeties playing back with those slant passes. Then missing tackles. Seemed that happened like 5 times for big gains.

We didn't want them to hit the deep ball either.

Champ, Harris, and Robinson got ate alive out there. I actually see what Freeze was talking about with them looking tired on some plays. Just getting blown by in man coverage and late turning their hips to run. Baylors 2nd possession with the long pass down the sideline against Harris is a good example of it.

Linebackers we're terrible in coverage too. Riddick seems like his shoulder is already hurt and the rest we're good in the run game, but didn't do anything in pass coverage.

A lot of it was also scheme though. We just we're in a bad defense a few times, never adjusted to the slot WR getting targets all night... If we walk a guy down over the slot WR that alone probably keeps their QB under 400 yards.

I thought the same. I thought Champ Anthony played fine but then went out with injury. Harris gave up 2 big plays. 1 for a TD and another that went down to the 5 or so. Champ's breakup on Trigg in the endzone on 4th was great.

The Pass Interference on Kayin Lee was BS. That was good D and almost an interception. I didn't see many passes go towards Kayin Lee and Crawford that I can think of.

ETA: actually just watched a breakdown and that 4th down TD was on Champ. Harris had the middle zone, Champ had the deep but for some reason took a step in and the guy flew by him.

Yep. They need a come to Jesus meeting before SEC play starts or every QB is going to torch them.

Doesn't Freeze have a "Truth Meeting" with the team? I guess that's where he just unloads the cold hard truth of the team's performance??
