Nope. And never will. They have zero reason to exist and the demand that is creating the current bubble will not last forever. Basically it is PayPal with violate fees.

except cryptocurrencies by their nature offer more secure transactions with lower fees than PayPal

I invested way too late in a few cryptos, still got a 100% ROI

It will be interesting to watch the shift in cryptos from investment to currency. Eventually the transfer rates have to level off.

I feel like I missed the train on bitcoin. Should’ve bought in a couple of years ago when I first heard about it. At this point I think I’m just on the sidelines waiting to see how big the bubble gets before the market corrects.

Is there any reason to buy into any other crypto’s at this point? I’ve considered ethereum.

I got LTC for the hell of it today. Hoping I didn’t hop on right before it busts. I also have Bitcoin and Etherium in small amounts. Honestly, I’m just investing in crypto for fun. Treating it like a Vegas i can check every day.

Haven't they been hacked more than paypal?

This could be the next big thing but I don't know. Seems this has just been a big bubble with everyone transferring wealth.

Notice how I said transferring.

That being said. Make that money!

This is the exact attitude to take.

Only invest what you're fine losing.

I started with about $6k a few weeks ago and have already turned about $3100 profit on ETH. Wife did about $2k on Ripple and has turned about $3k on that as well.

IMO, this is great for just making some free money really quick. This isn't likely to end up a major developer of wealth for anyone, long term, that is just now getting into it. The bubble is GOING to burst at some point. I do think crypto will still rebound, post-bubble-burst, to the current types of numbers but it won't be this immediate kind of cash grab like we're seeing now.

IOTA is supposed to be the next big crypto, from what I've read. They are apparently going away from the "blockchain" methodology and using something else (I think they call it tangle)....but it eliminates the "mining" that is done with Bitcoin, which is a major drain on the power grid. Apparently Microsoft and Samsung have both jumped on board in some capacity with either backing or using IOTA.

Nope. Just her parents.

They went in with a group of ppl to lay out the capital on the stuff necessary for mining, and they got about 20 bitcoins out of it. Her parents have sold off about 13-14 of the coins already and paid off their cottage on Keuka Lake in NY already. So they still have those 6-7 left

My balls hurt every time someone mentions BTC. Talked myself out of buying a couple hundred when it was like $2 a coin.

Yeah I haven't had any time the past few days to look into it too much. Just saw something of an article mentioning something with Microsoft and Samsung with IOTA and then IOTA having some kind of "blockless" blockchain that is supposed to be beneficial in some way.

Someone said it's weird AF. You basically have to have purchased at least 2 cryptos before (ETH, LTC, etc.) and then you are able to purchase it. It makes NO sense to me.

Yeah, I’d keep a little in both if you’re looking at more under the radar altcoins. Sometimes the transaction fees are a lot less for ETH/LTC than for BTC

IOTA is heating up from what I can tell. NEO and ARK are getting popular too.

Yes. But I do think that method is a pain in the arse for some reason. Rather just deal with cash.
